Eating Gold
Other
I’ve had alcoholic drinks with gold flakes in it, there’s definitely a trend where people just want to have gold covering their food
Have you tried it yet? Would you try it?
Hi I have had it before and it taste like ... a waste of money lol it’s not worth it, but obviously feel free to try it for the novelty of it!
I don't see the point. Surely if you want a bit of bling on your food just dust it with gold sprinkles or coloured sugar etc. I am not sure I would even try it unless it has some sort of health benefit.
I don’t believe there’s any added nutritIonal value to it - I mean I’ve heard of dogs gulping down wedding rings, and we all know where that goes! Can’t imagine the body benefiting from it
I understand that it's the novelty that entices the public to try this but I would much rather keep it for jewellery and all things of value. The vendors are definitely making a killing out of our curiosity but as my good friend would mutter 'Yer aff yer heid'
I had gold spray, got it on cake and bake show and it made the Christmas ginger breads look amazing. Taste wise....nothing....just deco
AgnesFaludi yeh that wasn’t a photo worthy of social media - just a random one on google (all the best photos were tagged)
not for me thanks. I have seen the craze when I am on holiday, and I am perfectly happy with regular, non bejewelled and bedazzling desserts (too rich for me!)
Too rich in many ways! It does look lovely in person, but usually costs way too much for mere mortals to cough up for
davidstockport It could?...... I reckon there's already an army of anosmic humans up and down the country with their steel prospecting pans. The 'where there's muck' saying proved correct.
angemski I read some years ago that there was a viable business vacuum cleaning busy highway roundabouts to extract platinum from the dust, because of the platinum used in manufacture of (and emitted by) catalytic converters. That's why catalytic converters are targeted by some thieves.
lol you'd think more people would be rifling through rubbish for this...although I have to say I have seen people spending more time in the canals...there’s all sorts of stuff in there
hspexy If you saw the follow up to the canal video - you'd have seen that many wallets were found - presumably the EMPTY wallets of people who'd been mugged. If they'd moved about half a mile up that canal they might have also found a few victims in the canal with the empty wallets in their pockets.
davidstockport yes, all very sad but true things that are happening in our world today. Reminds me of a time I was talking to someone who had told me her plans to dive into a canal if she was ever to fall victim to such muggers, as she regularly used the towpath as a cycling route. What a sorry state of a world we live in
hspexy Strange you should mention that I was only yesterday saying elsewhere about my late mother-in-law using the towpath of that very canal, (about 4 miles away) as a cycling route, she, apparently going quite fast, swerved so as to avoid the lower part of a bridge arch need I say anymore
My late wife couldn't even mention it without us both, and anyone else, breaking down in hysterical laughter.
hspexy I can't even think about it without laughing. It's the kind of thing that even the "victim" laughs about at a later date. (but not at the time ) At least she didn't smash her head on the bridge
