In the News

has anyone bought from eBay from the police? I came across it in the news and thought it was interesting

more recently a debt collector seized a dog and put it up for eBay - madness!

They probably have, but individually opposed to collectively, as they may be franchises? It horrible to hear that people do make money out of other‘s musfortune, but that’s life I guess

They've done this for years x the police have seized cars, houses and contents and sold it on various places, as for some bailiffs they've took many stuff illegally and kept it or sold on x

I’ve been to an auction previously where some of the items had been declared as items the police had seized, and it was all very valuable stuff. I’d like to go back again not to buy, just to be nosey!

hspexy the car ones have evos, bmws to the top cars and i once saw a throne seat made from part gold with diamonds and gorgeous jewels in it they didn't hold back in saying it was from a gangsters home think it made it sell for more. What i cant stand is police/bailiffs taking kids stuff and selling it as the kids haven't done anything wrong. I dont think its right to take goods off of vulnerable people or old because of say a council tax debt. It's a sad mad world we live in x😪

tinakittyjay I agree, but I guess they have just adopted a one size fits all policy with regards to seizing things, and then there are those who have chosen tgat profess as it suits their personalit. It is indeed sad and mad 😒

hspexy its only going to get worse as police are sick of the treatment and rules they are being made to work under. As for bailiffs they soon won't be dealing with council tax arrears and such as a motion is being put through to make councils unable to hire bailiffs to seize goods for things like council tax. We can only hope that by extending a helping hand and heart to those who are vulnerable and those who are growing up now that life can be different and hopefully make our communities and future generations happy, safe and united together.

tinakittyjay I agree, definitely more can be done to help oppose to punish. If anything the arrears situation is exacerbated by the lack of controls put in place by the government, as people do get tricked into taking up payday loans, paying high interest rates for things that end up costing triple, etc.
