Eczema on Hands

I get eczema on my hands when I eat dairy or soya. It's a much more common allergy than people think and most health professionals think eczema is a condition that they have to control and manage rather than finding the root cause. Have you tried an ointment called protopic? you do have to get it from the doctor but as it's not a steroid, you don't have restrict your use of it as it doesn't damage your skin like steroids can.

I sometimes rub coconut oil onto the back of my hands. Just buy solid cooking coconut oil and scoop a little out.

E45 and hydrocortisone where the only things that ever worked on my brother's eczema. He had it as a child and still does but not as bad as he did as a young boy. I felt so sorry for him as a child, especially a baby, he used to cry so much poor thing it broke my heart.

My mum suffered with this for a long time. The prescribed creams mentioned above all helped, but she also used the body shop hemp cream for a while too. It didn't react and helped loads alongside the others. Also felt more luxurious for a change to the big tubs of prescription cream!

I use Balmonds hand cream and skin salvation as I am outside all day and in the winter my hands get chapped

Highly recommend you try sulphur soap it’s amazing will not take it away but reduces the flare ups

Aveno was Great on my sons eczema as a young child. My teenage daughter has just started with eczema on her hands, I would love to know the cause rather than apply creams. When we used hydrocortisone cream in the past it cleared up the area you treated but the problem just popped up somewhere else.

I’m the same. The only hand cream that worked for me was tropic butter balm, but they have stopped making it and I have used my last bit I’m absolutely gutted x

I don’t have eczema but I do have psosoris. I was advised to wrap in cling film after applying cream. This did actually work but it then returned. I am hoping three weeks in the sun will help. My daughter has eczema and what she eats dictates how good or bad it is.

Hi there. I also have eczema on my hands which tend to get even worse during the Winter. The doctor has prescribed me with an zeroderm ointment which I use to wash my hands instead of using soap. So far it's working good. I hope this helps!

I'm the same I just use moisturiser after washing my hands and use hand wash instead of soap.

E45 cream ive found often helps, havent had too bad eczema so cant say if it helps real bad cases

Almond Oil.

Steroid on first and we were told to leave 30 mins before application of chosen moisturiser, the emollients seem to work better for my daughter , and she's uses cotton gloves every night to ensure the moistursier stays on. Since she's started swimming lessons her skin has been the best it's been in years, no red flare ups for a month now
