Elope or Big Fat Family Wedding?

Ask a Question

I’m 40 and still not married. i don’t want to be an old bride but we just haven’t got round to it yet. Sometimes I just want to go and just do it, but also would love a Family day

If the thought of a big wedding overwhelms you then elope. So many people put pressure on themselves to please everyone else but the fact remains - it's your day so please yourselves first. You can always organise a family party after the event.

You could have a small private ceremony and then have a party later on with more people? Best of both worlds.

My mil got married at 52. I planned the wedding. We had a church service and reception. It was family and a few very close friends only, about 50 people max. It was a fantastic day and very low key. Our day was the same, just family and close friends, only 60 people. Wouldn't change a thing about either wedding day.

You need to have the day you want as it is YOUR wedding day no one elses.

Im not that fussed about a bug wedding, i don't have a close family so I'd happily elope.

Getting married is really just for you and your partner. Just get married and ask special couple to be witnesses. Enjoy your no fuss day and announce it in your Christmas cards.
