The End for 'Bushtucker Trials'

In the News

I’m glad they are ending it, as there’s plenty of other things the ‘celebs’ can do to entertain the audience

Pretty horrific to be eaten alive, even insects have emotional intelligence and a nervous system. Spiders have been shown to have decent problem solving intelligence and many small creatures exhibit fear so they can assess a situation and realise its dangerous and be worried for their safety. I always find it a bit disturbing when you completely trivialise the killing of an animal even small ones like insects so I certainly like the fact they won't eat live animals now.

I agree. I’m glad that ITV made this decision, as I am sure there’s other ways to entertain the ‘celebs’, as well as the public

To be fair, there have been times I feel that they were pretending that certain insects were alive to make it seem more dramatic - I wonder if a lot of it was that way... last year there was Harry Rednap with the “live” Huntsman spider that he had to hold in his mouth for 30 seconds and it didn’t move at all, it looked like they positioned a dead spider in his mouth and took it out again afterwards without it moving once...

Theres no need to use live insects/animals for entertainment. The show will continue without them and viewers will still enjoy it.
