hi sorry to hear you a suffering with this, I feel your pain. I suffered with this for years and it ruins your life. I was in constant pain daily. I opted for a trial that was being done at the time where basically it was an operation where they (in simple terms) used a method which they described to me was like microwaving the lining of the womb away. It did help for a little while but in the end they finally agreed to give me a hysterectomy After 10 years of agony. I was 37 at the time and I can honestly say it was the best thing I have ever done. I’m sorry I can’t be of more help to you other than tell you my experience as I never found anything that actually helped with the pain. I hope you get some help soon as this condition affects your daily life and you feel miserable x

heatherduthie Thank you so much for sharing your story with me, my mum passed away when I was 4 years old and it completely broke me for all my childhood. My only last thing to cling onto was the chance to have another 'mother & daughter' relationship with my child, now to know that this is nearly impossible is devastating and has, to be quite honest, sent me into a deep depression. Did you experience this?

belleshowsdogs hiya. I already had my two kids a girl and a boy, it was after my son that it started. I had no intentions of having anymore kids so i was happy to have the hysterectomy to be pain free. it had started to affect my work aswell so I was relieved when they finally decided to do the operation. My mum passed away with ovarian cancer a few weeks after i had my operation, which was devastating. They left my ovaries in but I am now waiting to get another operation and at the same time they are going to remove my ovaries as it in in the back of your mind all the time. I’m so sorry to hear you are going through this. Have you tried evening primrose oil capsules? can I ask how old you are and if you have any children

belleshowsdogs I have no experience of endometriosis but wanted to give my experience of the mother daughter relationship as I believe you can still have it. My mother couldn't have children, due to other reasons, so she adopted. My mother and I are the best of friends, we have the most amazing relationship. I never felt like I was adopted or that I wasn't their child. I always felt special as they had picked me. Yes my mother would have loved to have had a biological child, which I completely understanding as I have a son, but she never made me feel like I wasn't good enough, as I was her daughter and she loved me and would do anything for me, she still would and she was the most amazing mum and the best granny. She was 40 when they adopted me, so it is still possible.

You can still have that mother daughter relationship, it might just come in a different way than you anticipated.

MrsCraig Thank you, I'm glad you managed to have a mother daughter relationship. I agree it is still possible but it's going to take some work and transitioning. I have death with depression, anxiety and quite a lot of difficult mental health problems. I always dreamt of pregnancy but if it isn't mean to be maybe adoption is a great idea. Thanks for commenting, you've made me feel led alone 🙂 xxxxx

heatherduthie Hi, I don't have any children. I am only 16 so many people in my family think it's ridiculous that I'm upset about not being able to have children. They don't understand that it was my last thing to cling on without my mum here. While I was struggling with mental health and still do, it was until recently the thing that saved me. To find out I may never have kids has just shocked me and destroyed my dreams. I hope all goes well with your operation, Im not sure what I will decide to do, sometimes the pain is that bad I can't move. The doctors have said I could freeze my eggs and perhaps use a surrogate but its a big decision to make for me as I may want something different in like 10 years time.. Thanks for helping me feel less alone x

belleshowsdogs Hiya. It’s not ridiculous at your age to be thinking oh having kids in the future, i Think there’s a lot of girls your age dream of having a family of their at some point in their lives. I’m so sorry to hear you are going through these health problems but stay strong. Mrscraig shared a beautiful story about her life. There is always light at the end of the tunnel and options available to you in the future. My husband left us when both my kids were toddlers so my other half now is not their biological father but you wouldn’t know that, he loves them like they were his own and is always there for them. my daughters has 2 kids, a baby and a 3 yr old. he is their grandad and the bond between them is absolutely inspiring. blood is not always thicker than water.

heatherduthie Thank you, yes her story is truly beautiful and yours too. I think my extreme need to be fertile comes from my mum passing and my dad not caring much. I live with my grandparents and my grandma is my best friend but I can't help but think about the future and it just makes me feel very isolated and alone which isn't helping my other mental health issues. thank you so much for talking about your experience it makes me feel much less alone to know I have different options in the future xx

Hey, how did you find it that you have Endometriosis. Meaning what made you go to the doctors and what checks did they do. If you don't mind me asking

hi, no I don't mind at all!

Here is a list of my symptoms:

Agonising lower back pain, sometimes I couldn't move I was in so much pain. I lasted around 24 days at a time (if you get what I mean), I used to faint all the time due to iron deficiency. I had blinding migraines, I had extreme pain when I went to the toilet, I felt constantly nauseous, I was in incredible pain for so long every month. When I went to the doctors finally, I had an ultrasound and pelvic exam and then was told after a couple of other tests which I can't remember the name of, the doctor told me. Do you mind me asking why you ask? If you don't want to say publicly my instagram is belle._andthebooks._

Hope this helps xx

belleshowsdogs thank you for sharing 😊 I've been having a few problems during my periods so was wondering if this could be due to Endometriosis.

belleshowsdogs Im glad SalmaS asked you about your symptoms/diagnosis. I almost asked you myself because I have a strong suspicion I have endo. Your symptoms are interesting to me. Iv always had painful periods, but they have gotten worse in the last several years. (I'm 37) I also have the agonizing lower back pain, For me it starts about a week before my period is due. During my period the pain intensifies in my back & my legs ache so badly, Going to the toilet I find very painful too. Iv then also had frequent UTIs this year, sometimes making me very poorly. Symptoms for them usually start about a week or 2 after my period. I had a scan of my bladder/kidneys a couple weeks ago that came back clear, The nurse has previously suggested the UTIs could be due to gyno issue. My iron is also low due to heavy bleeding. I was considering speaking to nurse again about symptoms & perhaps getting the coil fitted to see if my symptoms improved, but think I will mention endo at the same time. Did your diagnosis happen quickly? Iv read it can take along time & that ultrasound doesnt always detect it.

Glitterandgold Hi, my diagnosis journey started at about 13 and I'm 16 now. only got diagnosed a month ago so It did take a long time and several different doctors, but I'm glad I have answers now. I know others who it has taken longer for. I hope you get answers too, by the sounds of your symptoms I think you should probably make a doctors appointment. I was going through about 2 boxes of always 'super' tampons a month I bled that much. You symptoms sounds very similar to my symptoms so I would definitely get checked out, there isn't any harm in doing so. I was lucky that the ultrasound showed my endo but It took me 2 years to convince the doctors I wasn't an attention seeking exaggerating little kid! Hope this helps, xx

thanks for sharing this. It’s been useful and helpful. I’ve had some symptoms over the recent years and this was one of the things I thought I may have, but thankfully I’ve tried different things and a lot of the symptoms seem to have gone, although now and again (usually at the beginning of the menstrual cycle) I‘d get flashes of blinding pain. I’ve found that keeping the pelvic area warm helps, and also keeping the bowels clear. This may sound silly, but I usually squat rather than sit normally as I find that during the menstrual cycle, it helps the flow opposed to disrupting it, particularly when it comes out thick (I’ve read that’s usually the lining coming out in clumps). Hope you are able to alleviate the symptoms

Yeah the lining definitely comes out in clumps, I once had clot that was a big smaller than a tennis ball! I was so worried I rushed to A and E but they were convinced I was lying, I was only 14 at the time. Thanks, stay safe!

belleshowsdogs I’ve yet to have something that big. A few times they come out and it can fit a teaspoon, which is alarming as I’d never experienced anything quite like it previously. I thought it was just down to me aging, but I can imagine how awful it is to experience such a thing at a young age

hspexy I think it was more upsetting that no one believed me and I had no clue what was wrong with me, they didn't want to even try and see if there was anything wrong. Just thankful someone cared in the end! Stay safe! x
