Are You Energy Conscious?
Other
And if you are is because you want to be or is it, like me, because of high energy prices.
I boil the kettle with just enough in it for however many cups of tea/coffee I need at the time. I turn of lights here and there as appropriate. What else do you do?
In this day and age we are all bombarded with messages and adverts to save energy, save water, don't waste food and being a conscientious person I try very hard to do so, for environment and to save money. I only boil enough water for my cuppa, hardly ever waste food (I freeze leftovers or use up next day), and even use water left in kettle, cold, for plants and so on. However, what gets my goat is the thought that I doubt very much that rich people bother on either count. If you can easily afford to pay your bills I doubt it even crosses your mind to save energy, water etc. Swimming pools, hot tubs, going from room to room in large houses leaving lights on and astronomical heating costs. As always in the world we live in the poor will always be the ones to economise, whether for themselves or the environment, why on earth would the rich even bother?
I couldn't agree more Lynibis, you make the point better than I did. The poorest always suffer. You wouldn't believe how we saved water at our last house, there were always buckets in the kitchen so that we could use it elsewhere.
