Do You Enter All of Your Names When Entering Competitions?
Ask a Question
I always wonder when in competitions it says:
First name Last name
Because I have a middle name I am not sure as to put my middle name after my first name. This is how I put my name:
First name (here I enter Jane Alice for example) Last name (here I enter Thompson for example). (Not my real name just made up ones)
Problem is if I only put my first and last name in that's not my full name.
What do you put in?
I never give 100% of my personal details - call me cagey but for security reasons I don't give absolutely every detail on a site I am not sure of. Whether that is one year either side of my birthday if it's not really relevant or leaving out middle name. I don't think any site has infallible security so why make it easy for someone to copy your details? 'Full' name is not needed in most cases so don't give those away. (many of us will have a second email address that we use for freebies and comps but they pose no threat to our personal security and spamming is easier to deal with)
The birth date bit made me laugh because I am far more naughty and do a 10 year difference as a matter of course. If doing comps for 'young stuff' like make up I have been known to knock off nearly 20 years! I work on the theory that many comp providers are ageist without even realising it sometimes. Besides which as you said, security wise correct birth date is the worst thing you could put.
Why worry about names Letgetfreestuff ? Why would they need middle names, some folk like myself don't have one.
Middle names aren't important for anything other than official stuff like banking, so no, definitely don't use them. They're not going to know, nor do they need to.
