The Essential £1250 Satchel for School Kids

In the News

https://twnews.co.uk/uk-news/christian-dior-launches-essential-ps1-250-satchel-for-children-going-back-to-school

my oh my, Dior must think we need to spend serious amounts of money to get the kids back to school

knowing kids, they will ’lose’ their school bag on their first day back

mind you, I’m sure it is the kind of accessory that kids in private education may have - reminds me of the time when a rich friend’s kid, who was 10, asked for the iPhone 11 to ‘fit in’ with the others. Thankfully, the rich friend said no

And the rice kids will most probably get. Good on your friend saying no I would have too, even if I had millions I still say no

He wasn’t caving in. He wasn’t born with wealth so he knew how ridiculous it was to give a child something that expensive. Although his children are indeed living a privileged life in general

I’m sure there’s some very wealthy people out there who will buy it but in my circle.

I would be frightened of my kids getting mugged if they was carrying something so expensive

Yes, mugged, or stolen in general. Or just left somewhere, forgotten about, because kids sometimes just lose things

My parents would never have bought me this! I didn't always get a new bag every year either, if there was nothing wrong with the old one I used it for another year. My mum never spent more than £15-£20 for my school bags, she bought them in the sales or in TK Maxx. My parents aren't millionaires, not even close, but they were considered rich by a lot of my friends.

I am definitely not rich, even if I was I would never buy something so expensive just for my son to put his school stuff in.

I don't think so. Although I am aware designer bags are well made, and may hold or increase in value dependent on their condition. However, give something like this to a kid, and none of that applies
