The EU is Considering to End the Daylight Saving Time

Other

If this happens, it will *only* affect European countries within the EU, European countries outside the EU remain unaffected. The idea behind this is, so everyone has the same time all the while forgetting some countries have different specific times so it's really a non-issue they're bothering with.

Kind of annoying if this goes forward as I've never had any probs with it, plus, everyone should realize this is part of history and need to cherish it for what it is.

First, the EU wanted to ban memes and now this... sigh.

I think they’ve been considering it for a number of years now, but it never goes ahead, for whatever reason. I find the time changing annoying myself, so if it happens, I won’t be sad to see it go

I agree! While it's nice to get an extra hour in bed. I really don't like getting an hour less in bed. I would be happy to see it go.

ACR lol the worst part is if you’re travelling outside the EU during these changes - it’s just so annoying having to factor it in on top of the time zone difference. I also hate that feeling like you’ve lost time

hspexy Just something to tweak up when you're in a country with a different time zone. The EU ended up splitting Europe to two parts, one with the EU and one without.

I miss the Pesetas and Escudos from back in them days. Poland's in the EU but refuses to use the Euro and use their own currency, Zloty. Good for them.

Rockman lol it’s funny they did that - I guess it was just one way to still be part of the EU but still have certain standards that each country still holds true to their own. I couldnt ever imagine the UK getting rid of the pound sterling, although I do find a lot of countries outside of Europe do not like handling it in recent years (like they know what’s coming!)

hspexy If the UK swapped from GBP to EUR, it'd more or less lose entirely its currency value. The EUR is a stable currency but also somewhat rocky, the 'best' one is the US Dollar and even that can't be too relied on either.

Even though Turkey isn't a European country, they want to get in to the EU so they can have the EUR currency, considering their own currency is falling apart. European countries want to leave the EU and non-European countries want to join the EU. 😅

Rockman yes Turkey has been trying to get onboard for ages, but theyve always been blocked, which is a shame. You’d think the EU would welcone new members, rather than keeping those who want to leave on a leash

hspexy The EU should be just seen as an organization and not a representation for Europe as a whole, in that, they can allow in whomever they want to their org. You know, in the Americas they've been wanting to make something similar to the EU-type but it never came to fruition.

On the bright side of it all, the EU isn't trying to ban memes anymore. lol

The hour would change but the rest would remain as it is. Really, nothing too concerning to bother about.

I wouldn't be bothered. Actually, I would probably like it as I can never remember the hour changes and get up an late or too early. I've gone several days before I've even noticed.

My phone changes automatically the time zone when necessary. I do have a watch but it's more for display.

They right. How it saves daylight? The sun is up any ways how long it was before.

Only good for a month and it means 6pm u still have light, after it gets dark, so what is the point?

People just forget it and they late from work most of the time.
