Ever Started a Claim and Won past the Warranty Period?

Has anyone ever had to make a claim for a faulty product and won their claim despite it being past the warranty period.
I bought a Bosh washing machine over 2 years ago and it just doesn't wash the clothes properly (our 18 year old Bosh was much better). It seemed faulty from the beginning but since I had cancer at the time and wasn't well, I didn't do anything about it, but I'm now wondering if it is too late to complain.
My kettle started to play up and in my mind I thought it was less than a year old. I emailed Russell Hobbs who confirmed when I bought it. I replied thanking them for their help and they gave me 40% code to use on their website. Now that’s good customer service.
I suggest you email Bosch. As long as you’re polite you’ve nothing to loose.
