Have You Ever Stayed in a Airbnb?
Ask a Question
I have never stayed in an Airbnb, my son has and he thinks they are good value for money.
I was worried about cleanliness, but today I have seen this article
Airbnb 'secretly pays out millions to hide murders and sex attacks at rentals'
what was worrying as the only previous news articles I have seen is about properties being trashed.
I have stayed in an Airbnb previously, it was lovely. The host was really nice too and the accommodation was immaculate. I would recommend always looking at the reviews and the images. You can also view some information about the host, and some are awarded 'Superhost' status - "Superhosts are experienced, highly rated hosts who are committed to providing great stays for guests."
Thank you for that advice, I may consider them in future rather than the local premier inn
I've stayed in plenty and they have treated me better than most hotels. Give you that homely family feel. Love it met some cracking people.
I've never stayed in an Airbnb. There are so many negative stories and reviews about them. I'm sure there are some lovely, genuine hosts but I don't think that I would personally consider it.
I prefer staying in hotels. I find I can't fully relax if I'm staying in a strangers home.
I've only stayed in an Airbnb once and the place was so homely and the host had left some wine and snacks. My only problem was the lack of car parking space as the roads were very narrow in the area we were visiting. I would book an Airbnb again as I like the home comforts.
Not yet but hoping to stay in one later on this year, me and my partner were wanting to go abroad this year but not going to risk it so might stay somewhere in the U.K just not decided or booked anything yet. Ive heard stories about sex attacks happen in airbnbs lots of stories about the hosts being the ones doing the attacks, so sad to hear this happen too. No one should have to go through that.
Just seen this I cannot believe this actually happened, https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-57487970
It's dreadful, no amount of £ will make up for this and to have to wait 2 years so she couldn't even start the healing process.
I have never stayed at one and never intend to. Main reason it is not my kind of holiday I prefer road trips.
My partner and I use Airbnb rather than hotels when we travel for work. You should have a look on the site. You can just have a room in an occupied house or can rent whole properties. My partner likes to stay in occupied houses. He has met some really interesting hosts and has shared meals with them. I am more reserved and like my own space, so rent accommodation that is private. There are some really beautiful properties to choose from, all over the world.
My experience has been that they have been very clean and well equipped. A negative review would affect their ratings, so owners need to maintain good standards.
That's good to hear, you only ever get to see the negative stories in the press. Like you I think I would prefer privacy.
