Ask a Question

Should everyone receive a free flu jab?

With hospitals overwhelmed by flu cases, critical incidents have been declared, and some patients face 50-hour waits in A&E.

I had a flu jab back in late October and couldn't walk afterwards, I had a terrible reaction to it and it triggered a very aggressive immune response. Saying that I've not had any great illnesses this winter so far but I'm still not back to walking normally but not far from it.

I use to have it but last couple of years decided not too, made me really poorly last time, and I caught flu and was hospitalised , so didn't work for me

Can’t even remember the last time I had a flu jab, pointless imo and stopped having them, don’t think they work anyway personally

Been having the flu and covid jabs every year . Touch wood never had a reaction to them and never had flu or covid . I suppose it's like a lot of things ,you only hear the horror stories , not from the 99% who forget all about the jabs within a couple of hours . Although some of us think we know better I personally believe the vast majority of Doctors and Scientists . I don't think my Boy Scout First Aid badge (the sum of my medical qualifications) qualifies me to debate the subject with those eminent professionals .

I’ve had mine from doctors same time I had a COVID jab one in each arm. I’m classed as vulnerable only offer to us, elderly and kids I think which is right. Still available for others , surely pay for your health .

I have my flu vaccine every year as I have to have it as I’m autoimmune and touch wood I haven’t had the flu and this year I’ve had my pneumonia vaccine My sister pays for hers because it’s worth it but I would pay for it if I had to as it’s just a small price to pay for your health

Our son has to have one every year, along with a covid vaccine as he is in the vulnerable category. He has never had a bad reaction to either luckily. I think if you are deemed as vulnerable then yes absolutely you should get it free.

Well I know they say it shouldn’t make you ill but i know so many people that swear the flu jab makes them iller than when they get the flu, so refuse to have it.

It doesn't matter if it's free, you'll still have a large group of people who won't get it. It would be interesting to see how many people who were hospitalised if they had the flu jab or not?

I would definitely get it. I work with vulnerable adults some are scared to get it. If I had it might encourage them to
