I cant see why you cant wear one unless you have a genuine medical condition. Also when wearing a mask wear it properly! I saw an old woman today wearing a mask without her nose covered! Whats the point of wearing a mask if you aint going to wear it properly? you just look like an idiot.

Leeann it’s not pleasant but it’s a case of would you rather wear a mask than a ventilator, the latter would be a lot more uncomfortable

Personally i think we should have all been wearing one from the beginning so i dont have a problem at all. I have a freebie reusable one that was posted from Hype and i already have 20 disposable ones if needed. Im still shielding atm anyways so wont be going out much even when i am allowed too

I'm ok wearing a mask and believe it makes the wearer more aware of the current situation. I completely understand that some people find them almost claustrophobic, like you Leeann. Have you considered a visor instead? The problem with the majority of the trendy masks being sold is that they are stretchy and that renders the mask permeable/pointless. Three layers of cotton is really the only way to go. Sadly, there will always be someone making profit out of the virus and charging a stupid price.

Leeann If that's the case then buy a few of the lightweight, paper ones and wear under the visor - they are of no use but they will be looser and more tolerable next to your face. I really feel sorry for you and it's not stupid any more than people having a phobia of spiders. (only the sufferer understand - I say that as the designated spider catcher!)

As Bartleby, the Scrivener often said, I would prefer not to. This may have a negative impact on high street spending, as people could switch to mainly ordering online to avoid the hassle. I went to six Boots shops yesterday trying to get a 3 pack of black reusable masks. They were all out of stock. Ended up getting some from an adidas shop.

There will be people with physical and/or mental health issues who can't wear a mask. So people who can and do wear one are also helping protect people who cant. If theres even a tiny tiny chance that by me wearing a mask, im helping protect others then im all for it. Wearing a mask doesnt make me weak, scared or controlled in fact it makes me educated enough to know that i could be asymptomatic and pass the virus on to others.

Remember masks /face coverings are not to protect the wearer but to protect those around the wearer . The theory being if we all wear one then we all keep our germs /viruses to ourselves .

Unless you pay silly money for a clinically certified mask and get trained in how to put it on properly then anything will do to cover your face and comply with the guidance .

I bought some of these https://www.latestdeals.co.uk/deals/cotton-reusablewashable-face-masks-pack-10-amazon-977 last week and they arrived in 2 days very comfortable (as far as a mask can be ) so I've ordered 10 more .

The disposable ones you see all over here worry me as they do not protect the wearer either but will be "chucked " all over the place , creating a mountain of litter in our streets (happening already as most have noticed) .

Buy cotton ones ,take them home ,wash at 60C and reuse - Will probably work out cheaper than the disposable ones , are just as effective and will help prevent the inevitable littering .

I think there is no reason people shouldn’t be wearing them. If you have a medical condition hopefully somebody else could do your shopping for you. If people don’t like wearing mask they really aren’t going to enjoy wearing ventilators. It’s so frustrating as a shop worker the amount of people not wearing them and being put at danger by members of the public all day long.

Leeann I’m the same I really didn’t like it at first. I quickly got used to it by practicing wearing it as I also need to use it travelling to work. I got given a visor from work which made me feel less claustrophobic! Maybe you could give that a try? x

I have got used to wearing them at work etc. and have also purchased my own pack of reusable masks from Adidas, a pack of 3 was £12.95, but they have gone up in price slightly now, I have been wearing them the last few times I have done the food shopping.
