Look Out For Fake Tarot Cards
Other
The company Wish, is apparently selling fake tarot cards. Unfortunately they look just like the real ones in the add but when they come they are really naff.
Just thought I would give you the heads up. I'm losing all faith with WISH.
How can you have fake tarot cards? They're just pictures on cards, you can make your own so why would they be fake?
I guess the poster means they are very poor quality.....but yes you are right they cannot be fake. Fake would generally be a copy of something expensive that does not work. Mind you, that wouldn't cover all the 'fake' clothing and handbags etc we buy that are copies of expensive designer brands.
Basically because a pack of cards costs around £15-£20 and companies like WISH are faking them, ie, copying, which is illegal as like books they are in copyright, putting them on naff paper, and the print is rubbish and selling them.
DebbieReed2020 my cards were way over £20, but the images they use aren't copyrighted, copied maybe but not breaking any copyright. Waites card images are copied from various artists, still doesn't make them fake. Yes Wish copy things as do a lot of Asian online companies and are stealing individual properties, but with the tarot cards they aren't advertising any that I've seen on there as original branded cards.
Wish and the others are well known for selling cheap items, buyers are generally aware that if its too cheap it won't be great quality etc
Dilligaf im not talking about real tarot though im talking about chinese fakes
DebbieReed2020 there is no difference, they are all copied from someone. You can read a pack of playing cards and get the same results as tarot/oracle cards, it doesn't mean they are fake
Dilligaf I don't think you are getting what I'm saying. Card manufacturers, who commission these cards with artists, get them to draw for them and then they produce the card. Then, Wish comes along, with cheap paper and naff inks, and plagiarises their work. This is copying, and plagiarising a product belonging to someone else.
DebbieReed2020 a lot of tarot sets use images that are out of copyright, I've been studying all forms of divination and psychic paraphernalia for years, the likes of Anne Stokes, Luis Roso and Lisa Parker are probably the only ones that have their own images within the copyright period used. I get you're saying they are copied but that isn't fake in the true sense. They are still tarot cards, regardless of quality and can still be read so in that sense they aren't fake. Practically everything on Wish, Joom, Aliexpress etc is a copy and most people are prepared to put up with copies and low quality for the lower price.
Never used wish for anything. I kept hearing about it, so I had a look. I think it if seems to good to be true then it probably is, so I won't be ordering from that site.
I too have had bad experiences with Wish. Cheaply made Chinese tat which takes yonks to turn up, if at all.
I just stick to eBay and Amazon now.
I've only ever heard bad things about Wish. Has anyone had good experiences? I've had plenty of good with Aliexpress but keep hearing too much bad about Wish to even want to try.
