Fashion and Its Pitfalls

Fashion shouldn't just be a price tag that no one can afford but a freedom of expression that anyone can use to show others who they are.

I dont think fashion is a price tag that some cant afford. People may not be able to afford certain designers but the shops on the high street like primark, new look, river island, boohoo etc have the same style of designer clothes at affordable prices.

Say for example t shirt, jean shorts and a pair of vans.

A supreme tshirt £150 levi shorts £50 and £65 for old skool vans - £265

Primark tshirt £5 primark jean shorts £8 and primark version of vans £12 - £25

What id wear vans tshirt £25 (these can be picked up on sale £15) jean shorts from topman £15 (on sale) vans (ive got a few pairs but recently got a pair on amazon for £16 using a promo so il use them as an example) - £56

For just one very similar look theres almost a £250 price difference.

I very much agree and appreciate your stand point however it has got to be said that from a social perspective that those who wear the top brands and pay top price tags are celebrated more than those that don't in both the media and in society as a whole.

I agree with KirsteyJames, fashion is as expensive as you make it. I buy all my clothes in the sales or from primark. My husband buys his clothes in the sale and our sons clothes are either from primark, the sales or second hand. You buy what you can afford and are willing to pay. Plus fashion is subjective.

Go to thrift shops to find designer stuff, go to thrift shops/charity shops and be sustainable ;) sustainable fashion is way more trendier.
