I haven't read an autobiography for a very long time but the two that stick in my memory are The Moon's a Balloon by David Niven and The Ragman's Son by Kirk Douglas, very pertinent as he died so recently.

I have 3, Hands of Stone (Roberto Duran, boxer), punk rock blitzkrieg (Marky Ramone, musician) and White line fever (Lemmy, musician). Plenty of good autobiographies but plenty of what I call money makers ( just half a life story)

The Moon's A Balloon!

Pure class!- from an era where gentlemen were truly gentlemen.

Peter Cushing had written one i would like to read it - He was the ultimate gentleman such a nice person in real life and quality , class , style and effortless intelligence - such a contrast to our feral numpty footballer and general pea brained so called z-list celebs society we live in now!

Ahh they were the good old days when using the "f" word was rarely heard!

It's more a novel but its widely considered to be a biographical novel of the writer. Shantaram by Robert Gregory. Its years since I read it but I enjoyed it at the time.

Dreadful to admit this but I've read Motley Crue's The Dirt several times. Every band member writes different chapters. Motley Crue are so beavis and butthead and yet, I find myself listening to them. I wish I could stop - it's been 29 years now LOL!
