Have You Got a Favourite Christmas Advert Yet?

Other

Forgive me if this is a repeat but I did search chat first. Feel free to report if it is.

I find it hard to choose a favourite but I have just seen the Plenty kitchen towels ad and frankly found it awful.

Would you sit around the dinner table with a nose bleed or publicly wipe a cat's backside. (Did I really see that?). The whole ad was a bit unsavoury.

Sorry if that is over opinionated but then that is an opinion by definition, if you didn't feel strongly you wouldn't bother to opine!

Yeah Sainsburys. Tesco one is ok apart from forgiving people who bought too many toilets earlier in the year.

I loved the one a couple of years ago with the WWI troops playing football together and sharing chocolate.

I haven't really seen and Christmas ads as I tend to watch recorded programmes but I do look forward to the John Lewis parody ads, especially the ones with trump 😂😂😂

He's always good for a laugh, haven't watched Spitting Image but seen the puppet on other shows, very funny.

Not seen any yet. Not surprising as the only thing I watch on terrestrial is casualty and that's not on so it's all Amazon prime for me

Ordinary tv is not worth watching at the moment, all documentaries, reality shows and quizzes. I have plex, Amazon and Netflix, all courtesy of family members.

They'll have to go a long way to beat this vintage cracker from Woolworths.

Ah, good ole woollies! I heard a rumour Woolworths is coming back but I expect it is fake news and even if true doubt it will be anything like it was before.

Lynibis We can only hope, but I think Woollies has had its time, sadly.

Oh dear I’ve not seen any. This is due to me recording ITV programs then fast forwarding to miss the adverts.

Yes, I do this A LOT lol. But often the tv is on in the background when I am doing other things so I get to see a few things I might otherwise miss.

I haven't actually seen any yet! My toddler tends to get the monopoly of the tv! His favourite show is always on in our house, otherwise it is the news or on demand. I will have to look them up.

Oh boy I am so past kids tv. You may remember my sis is a foster carer and we went to a holiday cottage with the two kids last year. By the end I couldn't look at one more episode of In The Night Garden!!!

Lynibis luckily my wee man doesn't like In The Night Garden! He is a big fan of Thomas the Tank, Fireman Sam and his favourite is called Sunny Bunnies! I don't mind watching these ones but there are some that I just can't take!

Glad I am not the only one, was thinking I was being old fashioned and prudish lol.

Speaking of which BBC have edited Fairy Tale of New York and become the Big Brother Corporation! This I do not agree with, vetting everything is becoming the norm.

I started a topic about it but it has not appeared in chat even though I have the points and I can get to it by clicking on the points given in notifications! It is not in moderation either. I wonder if anyone else has had this happen?

Lynibis I've replied to you on your BBC thread but can't see it on chat. There is another posted 40 mins ago https://www.latestdeals.co.uk/chat/pogues-fairytale-new-york-censored-bbc-bosses?page=1#recent which I would have thought a duplicate of yours, or if yours taken down why is this one allowed.

lilyflower my one was posted 5 hours ago so I trust to the founders to sort it out. If anyone reports I think they will realise what has happened. But I hope they don't take the new one down or @RegularComper will think I am pulling a sly one.

I'm still in fast forward mode at the moment so haven't actually watched any of the Christmas ads. I figure that in the next week or so we'll all be bored rigid by them so I'm holding off as long as possible. Disappointed with the John Lewis one.

You do realise that I will now be looking out for the Plenty one now 🙄

🤯 Wow! A step too far - a guest repellent in the time of Covid?
