Favourite Curry
Ask a Question
Every Sunday we have a curry and to be honest I would rather have a curry than a Sunday roast now.
I like a Jalfezi, Dupiazi, Bhuna.... everything really.
Whats your favourite curry
Depends on how hot you like your curries. You can make your own with adding extra spices to your taste.
King prawn curry, chinese.I'm not a huge fan of Indian food.I'd rather have a curry than a Sunday roast too tbh.
I love pretty much most curries but my favourite is a meat Dopiaza.
But they are so delicious.
Thanks PinkFlamingo sound like all Asian dishesin my home mostly all week we do cook mix dishes chicken , vegetables meat dishes but we do cook special meal on Saturday and Sunday mostly because friends and family used to visit us.But not now because this lockdown sad but I cooked meat pilau with raita today . Thanks once again PinkFlamingo for this Topic
I love a good curry but I don't think it will replace my Sunday roast. I enjoy most things - Jalfrezi, Balti, Madras etc. One of the nicest curries I ate in a restaurant was a kidney masala - fancy recreating it at home some time.
seasider71 A kidney curry? I don't really like the sound of that.
As for me, I love a chicken dhansak from my local curry house. I've tried making it myself a couple of times, but I can't get it quite right.
TheChimp I think the fact that was the only time I've seen it on a menu says a lot. It's not to everybody's taste.
Iceland Chicken Biryani with pilau rice. Just add a little bit of mayo to make a creamy sauce.
RichardDoolin If you're talking about Iceland, this is a good curry ....

When I was ordering it at our curry house, I asked them for a 'Mack-arne', but I've now been educated and it's pronounced 'Muck-nee'.
I think that I'm right now, but I might be told that I'm wrong again.
Hi RichardDoolin if you’re don’t mind just want to let you know chicken biryani is different then pilau rice both different dishes I hope you’re will not mind Edit
TheChimp I know you’re fan of Asians dishes for the dish you’re wrote don’t need to leave space you can just write Makhani masala curry or chicken Makhani curry. take care I know you’re will not mind
Jasmine111 Yeah, I know. I normally have a Jalfrezi or Bhuna with the pilau rice. The biryani is a half portion mixed with a half portion of pilau rice in one container. You need one and a half to make close to a full pasta dish. It's worth it though as the chicken tastes like it has been left longer to marinate.
RichardDoolin Thanks for your reply when I read your comment Biryani with pilau rice I thought you’re didn’t know mostly we do eat pilau and Sweet rice together. we don’t buy cooked food from supermarket I love cooking at home never tried that food. we used to go for eat out once week that stopped now hopefully after lockdown. I hope you’re didn’t mind I wrote comment for you
Jasmine111 Bhuna is really nice with a bit of lime pickle. https://images.app.goo.gl/j4SyVBaFFgQ9z4gf8
RichardDoolin yes you’re right I am sorry replying late at this moment I need tea not curry please have a lovely morning
I use Tastesmiths fresh herb/spices sachets and they are fantastic. The Makhani one is the family favourite:
Thanks gerrykelly25 I never tried this Brand spice and herbs i will do next time
I love curries - and the hotter, the better. Any curry is good for me, as long as there are peppers spicing it up
I guess madras is my favourite Indian curry especially from a takeaway, if its from a supermarket I think vindaloo maybe better. I find the supermarket curries a bit milder overall. I had a phal curry from a supermarket, sainsbury's I think it was but could never eat a phal curry from a takeaway. I generally have more chinese curries. Do chinese curries have names? The one I buy is just chopped chicken curry and it seems like its the same sauce which ever curry you buy if its chinese.
From the takeaway, it's always the chefs special, shakuti...It's creamy, coconuty with a kick of spice
i love Jalfezi! or a butter chicken! i like mine with a bit of a kick usually but get such bad acid shoot up so avoid it now. i go for fruity flavours more so now
I love all curries but my fave will always be Dupiaza. The best taste about it is washing it down with a cold beer.
Mine is a lamb dansak but only from my regular, I have had it at a few other places and the lamb wasn’t great quality so I’d go for chicken dansak if at any other restaurant
Chinese curry, but the curry powder( in hot or hotter) from B&M, POUNDLAND ETC,..so easy to make up and then i add mushrooms, onions, peas....watever...
I love a prawn or chicken korma. Love them all but that is my favourite. And got to have a naan to go with it x
I enjoy a Curry and recently I have become more adventurous. Our local Indian does a Chef choice, you just choice the heat, mild, medium or hot and they select for you. So far I have like all of them, including a fish curry which I would never chosen. Love anything with spinach.
