Watching National lampoon Christmas vacation has become a Christmas eve tradition in our house. My personal favourite is Santa Claus the movie tho as it brings back happy childhood memories. I'm also a fan of The Polar Express.

My favorite festive films are The Holiday and Last Holiday. They're both light watches and it’s just something nice to have on in the background whilst talking to friends.

Merriam-Webster defines "festive" as: of, relating to, or suitable for a feast or festival

But, I take it you mean Christmas.

I'd say Bad Santa and Home Alone 1 and 2. Die Hard is awesome, too.

Any version of 'A Christmas Carol'. It's not Crimbo if I haven't watched a variation of Scrooge. Add to that the usual rom coms. Emma Thompson was annoying in her film 'Last Christmas' but I enjoyed Emelia Clarke's character so maybe I'll watch it again.

Does anyone remember a version of Scrooge with Ross Kemp in it? It’s one of those that they just throw into an afternoons viewing..... but it’s FAB!!! Seen it twice, but I haven’t found it the last couple of years.... I always buy a TV mag now to see if I can see it??

MandeeMayson IMDB is an online database of films, series, actors etc. Always a useful tool when you can't remember where you've seen a particular face or their acting history.

I know this won't go down well but I don't watch Christmas movies unless they are on the tv and there is absolutely nothing else on. This is because I'm a teacher and spend the last few days of term watching the same Christmas movies over and over! I only plan to watch them in the future for my son, but I'm really not a fan of Christmas movies.

MandeeMayson when you have to watch the same film over and over multiple times a day, the magic and joy of Christmas films wears away quickly. I no longer enjoy Elf, I had to watch it 7 times in one day!

Die Hard or Trading Places. I'm not really into the schmaltzy stuff. I prefer the Christmas festivities to be in the background 🎅

It's not Christmas until the wizard of oz has been watched. Years ago we had it on VHS but eventually wore out. these days it's usually on an obscure channel but always on at Christmas
