Favourite School Dinner (Sorry if Not Relevant)

Other

mine was a blob of the creamy mash and beans and a Cornish pasty that was the size of an elves snack .. one bite and it had gone . I always used to ask the dinner lady could i have another if any left and to be honest i think i got one once and the girls table got one every time there was any left . Think our dinner lady did't like me . then for our dessert it was sponge with a layer of icing and the bowl was then filled with pink custard . It was was that thick you could stand ur spoon up in it 🤣 but gotta say it was bloody good

Hi Darren I loved coconut jam sponge. It was a sponge with jam on top then the coconut. It was lovely had it with custard . I make it now. On Fridays it was fish chips and peas with bread and butter. The batter was to die for. And it was a nice big thick pice of fish. These were my two favourite school dinner.. we had roast dinners with all the trimmings. My school I love I wish i could go back for a day. We had great day trips and hoilday. Hope you are well. 😎😎

When I was at school we used to have these competitions who could eat the donuts without licking your lips! Man these were good donuts And only once a week. Probably wouldn’t be allowed them these days but they were soooooooo good 🙌

'If Not Relevant' Well, uh, this is a discussion section so it's entirely subjective what folks find relevant and whatnot.

Anyway, I was never a fan of school food. Then again, public schools aren't going to give you the best service but serviceable.

I truly can't remember as it was so long ago. But I know what I hated: the compulsory bottle of milk that was always tepid because in summer it wasn't refrigerated prior to drinking and in winter the crates were stacked against the radiator!

looking back, the food was rubbish - but at the time, I enjoyed spag bol (which we never had at home as it is not a cuisine that we had) and the giant cookie that we with our strawberry (very watered down!) milkshake. But I can say that it was due to school dinners that put me eating mash and mushrooms for many, many years, as I expected everything to be watery, flavourless and soggy
