My kids loved the Faraway Tree. When I was a kid I loved the Mr.Men books.

My step grandfather wrote his own stories to read to all his grandchildren when we were young - they featured Micky Mouse, Percy the Pigeon and some other additions.. think there were around 10 stories he wrote and we all loved

I think part of the ladybird collection?

I loved fairy tales too or Hans Christian Anderson.
