Finally Purchased My Caravan
Ask a Question
The day has finally arrived. I know some of you have been very helpful over the past weeks and much appreciated for your help so if anyone is interested ’we gone and done it’. Will not be collecting until October due to family commitments but when we do where should we head first? Our base is Kent.
Congratulations, I'm sure you have loads of great times. It may be worth looking on this site after deciding where you want to go and then seeing where to stay
October is nice to travel , the autumn is beautiful E
I have never owned a caravan but would like to
A friend purchased one recently, just a little tip if this is your first time , he found the hitching and unhitching etc a little daunting , of course if you have owned one previously, no problem and it all depends on its' size
But if not maybe take a friend along who knows the ropes, until you are confident enough to do everything yourself
Otherwise have a great time
My husband used to drive buses and HGVs and is very knowledgeable about the hitching and unhitching of caravans. He is also good at the emptying of certain containers!
Congratulations they are some lovely places in England you will be able to just hitch up and go exploring new places have fun
First time we went away in ours my partner took a wrong turn we ended up having to snitch and push it round. So my advice be careful which road you go down
My daughter will in charge of map reading. She managed really well in Australia so I totally trust her.
If you've never owned a caravan before I'd suggest a weekend in Kent so you get used to towing etc other than that plan your journey and check road gradients etc. There are some beautiful places in Cornwall and the West Coast of Scotland but I wouldn't want to take a caravan on some of the roads.
Yes, that is what we are thinking of doing. One main reason is if we have any issues with the caravan we can contact the dealer who would definitely help us out.
Congratulations on your new caravan venture. I loved ours when we had one. Wish I had never sold it. I can’t recommend any where to go as I’m in Scotland and didn’t really venture far. But one thing I will make you aware of, is if you have an awning be prepared for a few choice words and arguments before you get it up. Once everything is level and set up ENJOY
Thank you to everyone’s comment, very helpful and much appreciated. We are in the process of searching for the additional items. Would be great to see some on the LD main pages.
