Go to places like Dobbies, Debenhams and marks and spencer in the January sales. You will get nice decorations for a fraction of the price. Doesn't help with this year I know.
The nicest ones are charged at premium prices. But if you want something that is more unique and classy without the high price tag, checkout some of the Xmas fairs where people are more likely to sell handmade, homemade items at reasonable prices. The high street will only be peddling the mass produced stuff. And if you have the time, make your own stuff - you can get a lot of ideas online

Garden centres are usually good, I find (although not cheap). The Range is quite good also.
