What Was the First Song That You Ever Bought/Downloaded?
Ask a Question
I've always been into music and started recording the charts on a little radio/cassette recorder when I was 6. The tape was a C15, so only 7.5mins each side!
My question is.........
What was the first single/download that you ever bought?
Mine was Another Brick In The Wall by Pink Floyd.
I remember seeing the video on Tiswas and was absolutely fascinated watching the faceless kids dropping into the mincer.
I remember strolling along East St. Market in London with dad when I was a young teen and he offered to buy my first 45rpm single but I had to choose between Bachelor Boy by Cliff Richard or Green Green Grass of Home, Tom Jones. I chose the former but tbh I have never really been a Cliff fan and Tom even less.
I can't honestly remember, but I do have some early Beatles, The Who, Herman's Hermits and some others that the OH would like to throw. These days it's Planet Rock all day long.
I wish mine was as cool as Pink Floyd.
First album I ever bought on cassette was a Culture Club album. I had just got a Walkman for my birthday & so my Mam bought me it whilst in Woolworths. My first bought single, again on cassette was Boyzone's, So good. My taste in music is definitely more cooler today! (Still like culture club tho)
