Some unpopular opinions of mine:
Intermittent fasting can sometimes be disordered eating and not enough people realise that it is!
No form of exercise is 'better' than any other form. They're all good at different things
Not sure if it's a hot topic or not, but -
fitness doesn't have to cost much, a great form of exercise is walking, which is free.
blacklabrador this is very true! And body weight circuits I find even more challenging at times than weightlifting! There’s also new fitness gaming such as ring fit or just dance!
Even cleaning can be exercise, especially when doing a deep clean! I am more tired after a deep clean of a kitchen or bathroom than a lot of classes I have been to!
mhancomps I have been doing a lot of heavy gardening over the last couple of months and some evenings, I can hardly walk!!
gerrykelly25 gardening is definitely good exercise. I think any movement is better than no movement!
I think it's well known that swimming is the best form of exercise. If that's true then to be the best it must also be better than any other.
Johnny it is better in some ways but I think other things can be superior in other ways. For example you may gain more muscle doing weight lifting and therefore, if that’s your goal, that’s better.
I was told not to do any breast-stroke when swimming due to a back issue, and as it’s the stroke I default to swimming is certainly not the best exercise for myself!
True - but if they could only do one form of exercise, swimming would be the best one for most people (unless they can't swim)
If you have back pain, because of the potential risks involved, it's definitely best to get advice from your doctor and/or physical therapist before starting a swimming exercise program.
