I think the word probably intended is FLEXISCHOOLING - the L had been left out in the title and the question. Hope that helps anyone else who was puzzled.

It wasn't hard to work out, but I still don't have a clue what it is from the name alone.

MeestairChrees No it wasn't hard to work out - but some might have thought it was about shoe repairing. Flexischooling can be spelt Flexi-schooling but always with an L. This explains to others who might never have heard the word:https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-north-east-orkney-shetland-47642207

AmazingPerson I wouldn't normally point out a "possible" spelling mistake (it would be a full time job☺) but thought as the question revolved around the reasonably obscure word - it might help others. ☺

Sanitation1234 I never object to being corrected (if I'm wrong) it's the way we were taught, back in the 1950s then for some reason it became regarded as insulting. Even school teachers were told not to correct spelling mistakes in case it destroyed the confidence of their pupils, back in my schooldays if we made a spelling mistake we had to write out the word, correctly spelled, a specified number of times and I'm glad it was that way.

It is a great idea but quit complicated you need permission from your child's school. Unfortunately most school won't let you for flex-schooling.
