Flixbus - New Intercity Bus Service Launches This Thursday

In the News

I've never heard of them, and I’m not sure how well they are going to do with what’s happening in the world at the moment, but they will be offering international services

They are well known throughout Europe, like Oui, they offer transport by bus through several countries and at a very interesting price for those who like to spend hours on a bus 😆

lol I don’t do much coach travel, so I only know about national express and megabus. The idea of sitting on one for hours doesn’t excite me

hspexy They are basically the same, the big difference is that you can travel from Italy to Germany for example, France to Spain, etc...

You can travel from London to Paris-Brussels-Amsterdam using Oui (long journey)

bzortead I can imagine how popular they will be once we can call travel freely again, especially if they’re cheap 👍

All the departure points are Southern at the moment - London, Portsmouth, Plymouth and Bristol. They are a cheap way to travel throughout Europe for those on a budget.

Suppose it will all depend whether they can compete in the longer term with budget airlines , time will tell, but some of Easy jet fares from Bristol to Paris are already cheaper and the time saving massive.

The time spent at airports is likely to be much longer before a vaccine is created. I haven't read anything about it yet, but I believe that a minimum of 3 or 4 hours before a local flight will be quite common.

bzortead No still showing as check in 2 hours prior to departure on Bristol Airport site, so still a considerable time saving when you consider the coach is 12 hours and I would think any extra restrictions would apply at the ports or channel tunnel also

Mango4 The airports are practically empty for the time being, but when the holidays begin again, the distance measurements and possible quick tests will be complete chaos.

I have never heard of them either, but if the prices are that cheap, I may consider using them in the future, even if it means being stuck for hours on a coach

Had a quick check of London to Disneyland Paris. Very reasonable, travels through the night so I suppose if you're able you can sleep on the coach (I'm no good at that) although I don't fancy the idea of getting there at 6am! It's good to know it's there as an option though

Yes I’m not very good at sleeping on the coach...and if I did fall asleep my snoring is bound to keep other passengers awake! 😂 I reckon their deals will be very reasonable to start with, but as they grow in popularity, so will their prices

Travelling by Coach/Bus/Train is awesome to see your surroundings, something that going by plane you can't do. Would do it for sure if it was between cities of the same country. Different countries would have to give it a thought.
