Food in Airports is Unreasonably Expensive

Other

I was at the Luton airport, there I bought a coffee for £1.80 which I thought was really pricey but even worse, was that it barely had any quantity in it. I didn't complain but I could have bought a Coca Cola 500ml bottle for 20p more.

WH Smith sells meal deals for £3.50/4.99 so that's way better but you don't get to sit inside a store comfortably.

And if I recall correctly, in Standstead's Burger King a meal costs like £7.50 or £8. BK is definitely not worth all that, you can actually make better burger sandwiches at home for less.

What do you think of this?

yes its sad that most places that have a captive audience with little or no choice seem to charge premium prices for basic food items, cinema food is my big gripe, so way over priced, surely they would sell much more if a reasonable price and have happy customers, its stressful enough most times at the airport without getting ripped off for food and drinks

That reminds me of the Burger King meal we had earlier this year in Dubai’s international airport, which made me think that the BK in the UK was cheap Such rip offs

Everything is more expensive at the airport which is why we take our own packed lunch with us 🤣 £1.80 for a coffee doesnt seem to expensive though its £2 in most shops. I remember buying a packet of cigarettes at the airport once (in whsmith not duty free) 😮 Never again!

If at least it had like half of a mini cup that'd be fine but it hardly had anything and almost cost £2. Lesson learned.

In London, I never paid less than £2 for a coffee (even for an expresso which is a shot only). For an airport the price is great.

You're lucky you never get past the International Airport of Sao Paulo. They will charge you about 45 Brazilian Real (local currency at today's price of around £9) for a croissant and a can of Coca Cola.
