Footballers Should Adhere to Government Guidelines on Celebrating a Goal!

Ask a Question

Just seen some highlights of goals from yesterday's football fixtures. The team members were huddling together to celebrate their team's goals!

This is going against the current restrictions!!

Footballers are idolised by so many adults and children so they should strictly adhere to Government rules and be punished if they don't!

What's your opinion?

Regardless of what they do on the pitch they should be fined for going to parties and breaking covid restrictions. Other celebs like Rita Ora have done the same and got away with it. These people should be made an example off. Some people are clearly thinking that if the celebs are getting away with it so can we !

They get tested before each game so everyone on the pitch is covid free

Getsome I get that too, but they have been advised not to, according to BBC Sport news:

This week footballers have been reminded that "handshakes, high fives and hugs must be avoided" with extra scrutiny on every aspect of life under lockdown in a coronavirus pandemic.

I expect they train, bathe and change in confined sweaty areas and are in some sort of bubble. If they get tested I can't really see a problem although I am one of the strongest advocates for obeying the rules.

What they shouldn't do is to off out in to other social areas where they may pick it up and pass on before next test.

Make soccer even less exciting? They don't even have an audience at the stadiums anymore.

This won't kill the sport, but it might make some of its fans disinterested from watching.
