I read this article "I forgive the man who tried to murder me" and thought you are a better person than me. Especially as the person who tried to bludgeon her to death, was out for the weekend, in preparation for parole, whilst he was serving a life sentence for stabbing a women to death.
Five years later, he is now up for an automatic parole hearing despite having being given a Order for Lifelong Restriction (OLR)
Just reading this has made me my blood boil!
He killed once and then tried again, the parole system doesn't seem to care about keeping the public safe.
Am I being too judgemental ? Do you think people can change?
I’m sure some change and are remorseful but not this man. As I get older I do believe the system should consider the reintroduction of the death sentence.
Pjran I agree with you that when obviously/clearly guilty the death penalty should be given. This man is clearly a menace to society at large so why should we all keep paying, indefinitely, it costs a fortune to keep someone in prison plus they have access to many facilities those of us out here would like to be able to afford.

Not this man!! Never!! I have and will never trust anyone who gets sentenced for murder or "manslaughter". Not that I have ever met any.
There are some people that can be rehabilitated but there are plenty that can't and this sounds like someone who can't. This woman is very forgiving, I imagine most of us would find it hard to forgive someone that had done this to us.
MrsCraig I think she just have made a conscientious section to let the anger go, but I think it's an incredible thing to be able to do especially as she knows he is up for parole again. Although common sense must prevail and he is never released into society again.
I think it is improbable that a man like this can change and I do believe that cold blooded murderers should be kept away from the public for life.I
However, there are some who, when an argument or incident has gone too far, lash out and never intentionally mean to kill and are remorseful.
The man in your topic should never be allowed out.

He shouldn't even be allowed to roam free. What a shame the U.K. doesn't have death penalty.
There's no justice system, more like injustice system. And citizens aren't allowed to use self-defense in many instances or they'll get arrested. Smh.
