Free Gym Memberships

Image

January is peak time for gyms. They're all competing with each other to get your membership and that means there are plenty of free trials about.

I've dug out the following nationwide gyms that are giving you free trials:

  • DW Fitness First, which has hundreds of gyms across the country, is giving away free gym passes for three days. So you can get in the gym straight away without paying a thing.
  • Xercise4Less is giving five days of free gym membership and if you do decide to sign up, use the promo code "FREE" to get your first month free with zero joining fee.
  • Anytime Fitness is giving a whopping seven days free. This is the most generous of the lot.
  • Virgin Gym doesn't have a free trial available, but bargain hunters have had success simply asking the local manager to test it - a very important step which everyone should do before signing up.
  • Pure Gym has a free three day pass available if you get it before January 1st, which you have to use by January 8th. A good way to get your New Year's fitness resolutions going.

I love the idea of Gym trials, I really do and I need them, but sadly where I live, there are no gyms that offer these fabulous deals. They all seem to be in major cities or in England when I'm in Mid Wales. Feels a bit unfair, us Welshies need to lose weight too.

I signed up to our local gym a couple of years ago, now don't get me wrong I am no fitness freak in the least, but it was cheaper to join the gym for the car park then park in the town centre 3 times a week

But the car park is free now so don't need the gym membership 😁

I used to work in a gym and anyone that came in on a free trial would get constant phone calls to join and be pushed into joining on a 12 month contract which they then can’t get out of easily. If you don’t pay it gets sent to debt recovery and sometimes even court. I would recommend joining a gym with no contract. As a few months in a lot of people stop going but left paying the contract for 12 months.

Good point. The Gym Group and Pure Gym are both contract free. Or you can use PayAsUGym which allows you to buy day passes to thousands of different gyms.

Nuffield Health gyms usually have a free day pass, I'm a member of this gym and would recommend it.
