Hello everyone, I have a question please regarding the FSM, I have applied for my 2 kids back on 20th of March with the school and haven’t heard anything until I decided to reapply via council website today and got an email to claim a voucher for my oldest who’s in p3 but not for my youngest who’s P1.......long story shot 
please, has anyone Successfully got a backdated payments?!

You can't get them back dated just be thank ful you got them today others had to take wage cut and still manage to feed their kids.

I saw something online the other day where the OP was annoyed that they had been stopped from getting child tax credits because they had had to try and get Universal Credit because they had lost their job and it was declined.
But the OP had a house, another house that they were getting rental income from and savings of over £16k!
Social security is there for a reason and it's not for people who have a load of money.

If you're entitled to it, you will get it. If you're a mickey taking chancer with money, you won't.
But if the council have made a mistake in not giving you a voucher for your youngest, I can't see why you can't be compensated in some way.
Unfortunately you can't get them backdated, it goes by the date you applied for them and it isn't the school but the council that is responsible for the free school meals, so it will be based on the date you applied to the council. As for your youngest one, try reapplying and if you still don't get it then email someone at the council about it. It might take a while to hear back as the councils are short staffed just now, but if your child is entitled to it then question why they aren't getting it.
