Freebie and Competition News (Part 2)

In the News

It seems that the Latest Deals website is struggling to cope with the chat I started, over 4 years ago, due to the volume of comments! So I am starting a new chat and waving goodbye to over 10,000 comments and starting fresh.

So where were we????

I thought it might be a nice idea to share our recent finds and discuss these on Chat. Whether it be a fab freebie or a spectacular win (or maybe it's just me being super nosey so you can tell me to take a long jump!) I thought it would be fun to report what we've been receiving.

And those of you that are 'Super Hunters' you might like to share some tips.

What do you think? Worthwhile topic or naff?

ShellyAnn I will be doing the advent comps this year but only when I have the time, I'm not going to spend loads of time on them as it isn't worth it.

I cashed in a £12 survey voucher and I received a £9 refund on a supermarket order because I'd been charged the full 1kg price instead of the actual ticket value. Happy hump day. 😄

I've won an advent calendar from teapigs. One for me and a friend it says. They asked me to email them, which I've done, but they posted comments tagging me and the other winners saying email them; anyone could email them and say 'hi, I'm Shelly and I one of your winners'. normally, you have to DM, let the company know your email address, then email them or maybe just give your address in the DM. I noticed the tag telling me I had won in 11 mins, so I was fast sending the email, but scammers are everywhere and I know they claim prizes that people have won. I haven't heard back from teagpigs yet. Image

Congrats on your prize. Yes I agree you normally have to DM them but I have known a few companies ask me to email them.

MrsCraig I just thought it was a bit iffy asking in public for the winners to email them at their email as anyone could sent an email claiming that yes, they are a winner. How would teapigs know? I covered myself and DM'd them my email address to verify it was me who emailed them this morning. they have replied, so that's ok. I know someone who £100 amazon voucher a few weeks back. Someone else claimed it! She didn't get the £100 voucher she won.

ShellyAnn that is awful! If I was the company I would sent her a DM to check that they had the correct details. It's not right that someone else got her prize. Glad teapigs got your email though.

I always commented on the post where I was tagged as the winner saying I would email or dm so they knew it was me.

I DM'd teabags to let them know I had emailed and to let them know the email address I sent the email from just in case anyone dodgy tries to claim my prize. They have gotten back to me confirming they have my email, so yippee, 2 teapigs calendars - £34.99 each on amazon!

Postie very generously has bought my prize from cakes and sugarcraft magazine. She doesn't like delivering parcels; funny, I thought it was part of her job... anyways, it's a warm hues colouring kit for chocolate. I'm hoping I can use it in butter icing, etc.

gerrykelly25 I agree. It's her second week on this route. I hope she gets moved soon. I had a postman for about 6 months who was really nice and great about the parcels, etc. This one is a karen. This is Karen the postwoman who has a problem and would like to keep speaking to me. I have to say it looks like a product test from a survey has gone missing as I've had multiple emails today saying 'hurry the time for action is now' 'we need you to complete this survey'. Well, I replied back again, I haven't had anything arrive. So is Karen doing her job right or she is dumping parcels because she doesn't want to deliver them. I can see me complaining about her. I controlled myself already as I wanted to go to Royal mail about her.. but no.... I held off... I can see it happening. Image

Moonstone22 As you know I do battle all the time. I am so burnt out with it. I don't want to get into a war with the postwoman in case she starts dumping mail, posting it to the neighbours etc. I don't shy away from going up against up people, but will this harm me more than help me if I start reporting her? We will see. I'm not going to be putting up with Karen kicking on and moaning about having to deliver my parcels everyday.

gerrykelly25 She probably doesn't want to do the job. maybe she was out of work and this was the only job she could get. yes, I understand that. I've worked in a care home before wiping old folks bums as I couldn't get any other work for several months, but I couldn't take it out on the grannies. If she's not happy with all the parcels I get, then yes, Christmas post is going to be too much for her. I hope she's gets a new patch to deliver to soon.

ShellyAnn It's understandable that you don't want to go to war with the postwoman. It must be awful having to hold back how you really feel because she is the one who brings you your packages and letters.

I have been battling like you the past month. I haven't been on here much because I've had such an awful time and I haven't really had much good to say. For starters I decided to join a voucher site last week and accumulated almost £5 in just two hours. I thought to myself how brilliant the site was and that it would be a regular thing I would do. The next morning I woke up in a positive mood ready to reach my £5 and cash out, only to find out my account had been blocked. I message customer services to unblock it and told them the situation that I had only joined the day before, how could my account been blocked?! They come back to me saying 'we have checked our database and your account has been blocked for breaking the rules, here are the rules you could have broken... ' I sent back a message saying how I haven't broken any of the rules stated, can this be reviewed' She sends me back an email saying 'we will not be unblocking your account as you have broken the rules. I have checked the database which says you have more than one account, mirrors in your laptop, a vpn, using multiple devices at once...' All of which was utter crap and I responded saying 'Your database is wrong and this has happened to other people judging by the reviews. I do not accept any of the things you have stated'. This went on for 4 days with her saying the same crap 'according to the database, according to the database, bla bla bla' My account didn't get restored. I then was about to cash out £100 on a different survey site last week only for the site to glitch and lose all my points and the voucher. I contacted customer survices, the guy on that one was a lot more friendly and did try help me but after a week he found out there was nothing he could do. So that was £100 down the drain. Three weeks ago I had been on my regular voucher site and there was a deal going for a couple of months that if I got enough points I could order a £500 item instead of a voucher. I was just about to order the item when they took away my points and when I asked what had happened via customer services they said they had decided to take my points away as I had been using my account on different devices. I told them that wasn't true and the database probably detected that I was using different WiFi zones and got confused but they didn't reinstate my points, so that was £500 down the drain that took me months to build up. I then was taking part in a 7 week comp where I had to win a prize by answering questions every day and getting the answer right. The prize was worth £60, I won it, ordered it via the app. However the day before I won it there was a glitch and I was awarded an extra 100 points which made no difference to the leaderboard, I was in the lead by 400+ points, I was honest with the company about the glitch and they said to me 'we have deleted your prize. If this happens again we will delete your account' I was in shock and enraged. I was being honest and they delete my prize that took me 7 weeks to earn and threaten to delete my account when it wasn't my fault the system glitched and randomly awarded me 100 extra points! I also won 4 competitions at the beginning of this month. I had to chase up 3 of them and have been so busy doing that I didn't enter any more comps since Halloween. It's been one thing after another, such a crappy month xx

Moonstone22 that's all sounds absolutely awful. I've had my accounts frozen before as it says I've broken the rules but they have always reinstated them again. I've never lost any points etc. I never leave the money sitting in the account either, as soon as I reach the threshold I cash out.

£600 is a lot of money to lose. I'm sorry you have had such a rubbish month xx

ShellyAnn it is one of the main parts of her job! I get that we all have to do things in our job that we don't like but that one is kind of a deal breaker. She is going to hate Christmas! I'm lucky that I have always had lovely posties wherever I've lived. Our current posties and delivery driver are really friendly, they even fuss over the dog when they deliver things.

Moonstone22 Sounds like you have been given the run around by lots of companies. I am sorry to hear about your lost £££. That is crappie. I have little faith in a lot of the survey sites that I regularly use. I always try to cash out at the earliest convenience. Generally that is £15 or as low as £5. I think there was only once I racked up £75 because I completely forgot about a survey site I was using and points had continued to roll up without much attention from me. Luckily I got my cash out and scarpered.

Here's to a better December for you. I for one will not be comping at all. I am looking at trying to get a few more product tests with various sites. I have a drinks product test which I am going to do tonight. I have to take a video of me enjoying the product. What a hoot!

Xx

MrsCraig Thank you, it was terrible, it got to me more because it kept happening as one thing after another. I haven't done anything this week to do with surveys or earnings points as I'm so fed up of being disappointed but taking time away from it all is definitely making me feel happier xx

Ceebers The companies have been acting shocking, especially for this time of the year. I've stopped doing surveys and anything to do with them for the time being because I'm so fed up of it all.

Thank you, things have started to get better, I feel like I'm leaving this awful month behind me and starting fresh for next month. Well done on getting the drink product to test. Those videos are such a pain, I never know what I'm doing with them. I almost got a product to test last week, I got an email to test a premium night cream worth £40 but when I clicked on the link it said I was too late and they'd all been snatched up. It really has been one of those months xx

Heads up on a con everyone. National book tokens and caboodle. Once you hit 650+ points you can claim a free book. You gain points by entering comps, etc. I've been collecting points since 2018. I hit the 655 a couple of weeks ago. Went to claim a book. No books available, come back on the 1st of Dec. I log in tonight to enter a comp. A load of my points had vanished. I emailed them. Apparently not all points are permanent and some of mine have expired. Now isn't that a coincidence once I hit 655 that my points start to vanish, i.e.., I can't claim a free book. So this woman goes on in the email, if you register your book token you got from us once you hit 500 points, you'll get another 300 points that are permanent. I'm thinking what on earth was the number of that book token? I've spent it. Well, me being me, I've kept it in my purse, so I've added it and now I've over 900 points. So let's see on the 1st if there is any books available or is this a con to get people to keep coming back there again and again thinking they will hit the target for a book only really they don't want to give you it. (I haven't replied back to the email as I will not be polite, so it is best I don't say anything).

Anyone else having problems signing into Ipsos Isay? It shows the home page but when you try to log in it says 404 error. I have a voucher I can claim so a bit annoyed I can't get on!

Edit: just checked again and it says they are doing maintenance so hopefully I can claim my voucher later.
