Freebie and Competition News (Part 2)

In the News

It seems that the Latest Deals website is struggling to cope with the chat I started, over 4 years ago, due to the volume of comments! So I am starting a new chat and waving goodbye to over 10,000 comments and starting fresh.

So where were we????

I thought it might be a nice idea to share our recent finds and discuss these on Chat. Whether it be a fab freebie or a spectacular win (or maybe it's just me being super nosey so you can tell me to take a long jump!) I thought it would be fun to report what we've been receiving.

And those of you that are 'Super Hunters' you might like to share some tips.

What do you think? Worthwhile topic or naff?

gerrykelly25 Thank you. I can try and google and see what to expect on the day but you never know with hospitals what they might throw at me on the day. I don't think that covid test up the nose will be nice and I don't like strangers seeing me without clothes on and I don't like strangers touching me. I don't like the thought of being in a gown in a state of undress with just knickers on. It's too invasive. Yes, I did it before and that was a in a private hospital with my own room; this will not be. I'm not the person who wears shorts in summer or bikinis or swimming costumes. I keep covered up. I really will not find this easy to do. It makes me feel very exposed and vunerable and frightened. I don't like surprises and always like to know all the details where I am going, etc.

Mctash omg, a brain aneurysm! That is hardcore. They were checking me to see if I had a brain tumour or MS or leasions, which thank goodness I did not. i know about the dye as my friend is a radiographer. I think today would have better if I had full details in advance. NHS pages of what to expect at an Oral outpatient appointment are useless! Didn't tell me any of it.

ShellyAnn I've got a big scar too and mine also got infected, although I had stitches. I agree with her about the feeling of being ripped open every time you moved.

Like you I've got good teeth and looked after them, but my mouth was overcrowded as I had too many teeth. Not as in I had more than others but my mouth was too small for all my teeth, so had to get them removed. Wisdom teeth are a pain. I had trouble with mine just before we got married and then when I was pregnant, they were a nightmare.

I think if you read up and be prepared as possible it will help and hopefully they won't spring any surprises on you.

I wouldn't worry about being in tears in the x-ray, I guarantee they will have seen it before! I've done my fair share of crying in front of drs and nurses, believe me they are used to it and they won't have judged you at all.

I'm glad you are a little calmer xx

ShellyAnn I'm sorry to hear you've had such a nightmare of a day at the hospital. I was worrying about you whilst you were there as I know how hard it must have been for you. I think you should be really proud of yourself that you made it there and you got through today. Even though it was difficult and a horrible experience you know your strong enough to push through the anxiety and concur it.

I decided to walk to my dentists today instead of Thursday, I had a nice talk with my dentist and she reassured me what she'll be doing.

Which day in May is your birthday, I wonder how far apart our birthdays are xx

ShellyAnn I do hope you are OK. That sounds horrendous for you. You'll get it sorted and feel better for a good while. Short term pain, for long term gain.

I hate hospitals too, but I have to go more often now because of the chronic illness I was diagnosed with in 2019. I guess what it has taught me is that you deal with one thing at a time and just have to go with the flow. Easy to say, but no so easy when you or anxiety levels are off the scale as mine have been in the past for some procedure.

Xx

ShellyAnn I agree that it is not nice to feel vulnerable and exposed but the staff are professional and you need to get this done. The Covid tests are uncomfortable but only take a couple of minutes. It will all be okay. Try not to worry about it too much.

MrsCraig I'm nearly 100% back to normal. thursday was a blur. I'm still a bit all over the place mentally. I will be on the ceiling the day of the operation. My friend, who works at the hospital and is a deputy manager of a big ward, says she will tell me more about what to expect on the day. I am hoping for diazepam on the day before the op as I think that would be a good idea. mum got metal staples back in the day!!! I don't know how they thought that was a good idea to close a wound.

Moonstone22 May 8th the same as David Attenborough; we should have a joint party. πŸ€ͺ I made it though the day.. yes... I got through it. I wouldn't of said I handled it as I would have liked to, ie, I was totally neurotic and borderline mute and the same time. Would of liked to have been able to have made conversation better and held eye contact.

Glad you made it to the dentist on your test walk. I take it on monday your dental trauma should be over completely? That's good. I will be thinking of you on Monday. x

Ceebers Thank you, I'm pretty much ok now. Still a bit mentally all over the place. It's the anxiety that is so bad. I really need something to calm me down when in hospitals. I would of liked to handled wednesday in a calmer fashion and not to have gone nearly 100% mute. I was just about able to answer the questions in a very brief way.

ShellyAnn glad you are almost back to your usual self. I think diazepam would be a good idea, help to settle you. I still remember my sons operation, very different operation I know, but I can completely understand how you will feel. I have a feeling that was how they did things back then. My mum still has metal pins and needles in her leg from when she was in a car accident when younger. She always sets off the metal detectors at the airport and has to explain why.

gerrykelly25 I think the few days prior to this operation are not going to be good. That covid test will not be good. I'm not sure yet what my coping strategy will be with all of this.

ShellyAnn That's not far from mine at all, mine is the 2nd. Lol yes we should. Don't be hard on yourself, it must have been difficult for you. When I go to the dentists I usually cry and my dentist has to comfort me and the entire procedure I have my eyes shut.

I wish, I asked my dentist if she's going to do my filling on Monday but she said because I'm so anxious she's not going to do it. She says she is going to try and get me used to just sitting on the chair first and keeping me relaxed. Thank you, that's sweet of you xx

I received a lot of freebies today, along with the eventbrite terrarium plants, so hopefully everyone on here who signed up to the event will get theirs soon. I shall take pics and post them on here later and I'm also going to check on Eventbrite to see if there are any more spaces available in case anyone hasn't claimed there's yet xx

I just checked and unfortunately the event has sold out now xx

gerrykelly25 Thank you, yes it's a freebie from an eventbrite live stream. I had to put it all together myself. I was sceptical if it would arrive as I didn't know how well 2 small plants and a glass bowl could get here without being damaged in some way but I was pleasantly surprised today xx

These are my freebies of today. The first 3 pictures are of my free Eventbrite event kits. My food pack ticket was the last slot available so I was unable to share it with you all on here but the terrarium and the pom pom maker kit are from the link I shared on here last week. The other pic with the fish Easter card is from a lovely woman who emailed me to offer some essential oil samples, she was only supposed to send me a couple but she sent me some lovely essential oils for my tooth pain as well.
