Freecyle vs Facebook Sites

Money Saving

I am just wondering do people tend to use Facebook freebie sites as opposed to freecyle ? These never seems to be much on freecycle

I tend to use Facebook because it is easier to upload items on there and we have a local freebie group that I put items onto. I occasionally look on freecycle and Freegle but there never really was much on them in our area.

We have a really good Facebook site that is good. Only problem is it’s really popular and some items everyone wants. I have not looked at free cycle so can’t comment.

I haven’t tried either so good to hear, but heard so many stories that people put something/ items up, then someone says they will come and are a no show. I suppose depends on are and items really.

I prefer local Facebook free groups as they tend to go quicker if I upload something and people respond faster as they tend to already be online or check Facebook regularly. Whereas Freecycle they have to log in or get an email. The OLIO app is a good one for freebies too.

Facebook groups,

Facebook Marketplace,

Gumtree have a free section,

Freeloved (free section on Preloved)

OLIO app

Freecycle

Freegle

Freely Wheely

Freeads (Free stuff section)

I'm sure there are probably more!

I use the local Facebook free cycling page. It’s convenient and only for local ladies giving away furniture, toys and plants.
