Gas and Electric
Ask a Question
Good morning . My father in law is moving. He's a pensioner and he's moving into sheltered housing. I am organising his gas and electric but I can't use accurate bills as he is moving from a private landlord to as I said a sheltered housing. Where he used to live the energy bill was paid for by the landlord .
Is it best to estimate and then if it turns out he is paying more than he uses and then adjust it in the future?
The compny will have average values for the amount of people in a property:how many rooms etc. Just make sure if he is home most of the time that you select the high usage for single person. If its too high they they can always drop it, better than estiamatong too low and then owing them money.
The warden at the sheltered housing may be able to help you get an idea....they will know all the other residents and may find out for you.
