General Chit Chat and NO Virus Talk and 'Smile' of the day :)

Other

Following from how topics change, lets just talk to our LD friends. What are we all up to, other than being confined to house.

Where I am, northeast, it is a lovely sunny and mild day and I wish the builders over the road would b****r off. I'm about to go for essentials but will come back.

lilyflower I'm not without food yet, I reckon I could survive a few weeks without getting any more, the only thing I could be short of for next week is milk, but there are people much worse off. I actually think it's probably worse for people who are NOT on their own. It will probably be a month or even longer before that cat's in real danger, there again someone might get it first.☺ Image

Only this morning I noticed not so much washing. I’m wearing items several times now I’m not seen by anyone except my husband. I still make the effort to do my hair and makeup so I’ve not dropped all standards, yet! Haha.

I was wondering when I'd find time to iron a few shirts I'd washed then realised there wasn't much point, I had found only ironing the parts that showed was an energy and time saving thing quite some time ago. Another thing to save time is never to put things away after you've used them, then next time you need them you don't have to get them out again. It doesn't always work though if you can't remember where they were the last time you used them.

Ooooooooh, I have, lol, but then no one can see, smell or hear me! No, my daily shower is something I could not go without as it helps me start the day properly. But hair and make up.......nah.

Lynibis Shower yes, it's like the morning cup of tea. Never bothered with make up couldn't see the point of putting it on to take it off and as long as hair is clean I'm good to go - only I can't 😞

Lynibis I'm not bothering too much - I reckon if I go without a shower for some time I will not need to worry about people coming too close to me. And if I can smell myself it means I probably haven't contracted the thing we can't talk about because they've discovered that the loss of the sense of smell can be one of the first symptoms. Image

Doing fine here, but... wish I could have a hair cut, very minor I know - I just can't stand it in my face and it is still too short to tie back! πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜‚ 🐞

I'm on my patio having coffee. It's freezing, 1 degree, but quiet, just the birds chirping and it's sunny. A bit of calm and peace before hubby gets up and starts his teleconferences at full volume. 🀣

It's another beaut here too! I started early today to make the most of this weather. I had a carton of buttermilk due to expire today so looked up a few recipes. I settled on a buttermilk bread option that was so easy and I am really pleased with the results. I think I will be finding jobs to do in the garden today.

Ok, I confess, I shouted at my neighbour this afternoon. I had all the windows open to let air through the house and dry a bit washing that I hang out on an airer, (I have no outside space) she lit a fire in a metal bin underneath them!!!!!!!!!

Ah lilyflower I feel your pain. Damn bonfires in the summer wind me up no end. In your situation that's even worse. I hope she put it out. Why can't it be done in the evening when the sun has gone if its really essential.

Janhrrs yes do it when the washings been taken in,though tbf one of the neighbours accross leaves hers out for DAYS(same stuff) so that would be difficultπŸ˜…Also,if they stop cardboard/paper collections then we will All have to burn emπŸ€”

Her kitchen backs on to our living room, wall is so thin we can hear her blender, she stands no chance. Music depends on mood, AC/DC, Led Zep, Metallica, Pink Floyd, Genesis, Deep Purple πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Well here is a silly bit of chat but I doubt anyone will see it apart from lilyflower. I did some gardening, then remembered I had got a block of pastry out of the freezer yesterday so made a quiche and some jam tarts. The family and I have a group chat going so I posted a pic of my quiche saying it was for tea. Just as I took a bite I got a reply from son number 1 'mmmmm pus pie'...........I laughed out loud and sprayed a load of crumbs over the floor!!!!

In the interests of clarity, it was a bit yellow as I only had a little milk so it was mostly egg (and the yolks were very yellow lol).

Lynibis I make mine pastryless and call them baked omelettes! Daughter didn't like pastry and Partner can't eat it, so I just throw the filling in a pyrex dish

lilyflower have often thought of doing this as to be honest I only nibble up to the pastry edge. I believe a lot of people with gluten intolerance have pastry free quiche.

lilyflower I have always believed the thick ends of pastry are there to keep my hands clean and away from the actual good stuff. I am the sort to eat a pasty and leave the crust so I also make pastryless quiches too. πŸ˜‚ I think that's why I enjoy a Spanish frittata.

I had trouble finding this thread today and don't know why. It's another sunny day and I've just cleaned the windows. I picked up one of those window vacuums at a bargain price a couple of months ago and hoped that it wasn't rubbish. It's great! I think I was relieved that it wouldn't be one of those back-of-the-cupboard gadgets that never get used. πŸ˜€
