Cleaning up after yourself
Paying bills
Joking apart...i do have the greatest respect for my granny....they lived...gave birth...were rationed...and didnt have food or shelter if they didnt work...we really dont realise how privaliged we are.
hahhaha funny, and yes its hard to think just how physically punishing every day could be let alone all the worries of the times like today. Makes me feel both grateful and sad
How old were the people you had to explain them to? I thought James Bond was still very much around
me too! one is 8 the other is almost 13- and knows who Dolly Parton is so.............
Waiting outside a phone box waiting for it to ring at 6pm (cheaper time) from the only family member with a phone at home (posh gits).
Having to get up and turn the dial on the black and white TV to one of the other 2 channels.
Having to wait for photos to come back from the developers before you could see them.
Can you imagine how it would be for someone that came back after 30 years on a desert island or similar, TVs you can talk to to change to one of the other 900+ channels, phones you can use outside, taking instant photos with phones or even with watches
No internet

KirsteyJames this reminds me of that joke about parents in the car doing the spinny hand thing to mime roll the window up and the kids thinking he was having a weird hand fit .........ah electric windows how spoiled we are!
OneeyedRaven only found out last week that my rear car windows still have a handle and its a 68 plate
OneeyedRaven electric windows are usefull but i think theyve put too much electrics in cars nowadays. When you get a fault even the garages dont know the problem half the time
I cant recall, but i know that earlier today I was mesmerised by the guy who was using a payphone on the high street - yes, a payphone! I didn’t think any of them even worked, and if they did, lord knows how clean it is lol
I had to explain to a 21 year old that we used to tape song from the radio. I had to explain what a Hi-fi was, a cassette tape and how you recorded it and had to stop it before the DJ spoke again
Oh yes, taping songs from the radio, and there was always someone talking over the song at some point! That use to drive me nuts!
Explaining to my pupils that mobile phones never used to have the internet and that we used to have bebo before facebook.
Just recently Iv had to explain to my children we didn't have mobiles and used to go the library to look thinks up!
