Ghosting !! as they call It !!

Ask a Question

What's with the younger generation these days and not getting back to people. Lack of manors or just thick!

Sometimes its best to ghost people so you don't have to deal with them I've done it myself and no I'm not thick or have lack of manors

My Ex did this, he was seeing me and this other lass at the same time he chose her and instead of breaking up with me normal way he ghosted me. I was laughing a few months later she broke up with him after finding out he was with me for the first 2 months of 'their' relationship. He was quick to come back to me and was told never again.

gerrykelly25 I found out after he ghosted me when I saw them in local town centre together holding hands. After they broke up she messages me out of the blue on FB and asks about mine and his relationship. So we both find out that he was seeing us both for a bit, he then starts messging my mum on FB begging for her to get us back together. He came to the house I said hell no and showed him the messages. I then got dressed and left the house leaving him talking to my mum. After that she never said anything to me about him, he keeps trying to contact me through social media every so often though which is annoying

If you have something to say be decent enough to say it to someone's face. Common courteousy really.Ghosting for me is just a way of evading responsibility.

some people are just busy with life, its easy to forget to reply to someone, others do do it if they dont like you finding it easier than just saying so. i wouldnt say it has anything to do with being thick , can just be a bit rude if they dont reply after many messages.

I suppose people may see it as the easy option to avoid an uncomfortable conversation. I think personally, it is better to be honest and then move on.

Leannexxx I think you’ve done what you can then. Sometimes we have to cut people out of our lives for our own well being.

I think the phenomenon of ghosting among younger people has become more common place though and often with little reason. If there is a problem, generally it’s better to let that person know. (I’m not talking about your situation)

I was just thinking the same thing, in the last few days I have sent 3 gifts, my sister rang me to say thank you & let me it had arrive. The other two who are the younger generation haven't even bothered to acknowledge them. I know they have arrived because I received notifications. It makes you think why bother to go to the trouble of asking them what they wanted buying it .If they can't even be bothered to ring, text or even face book and when you ring them it just go to voicemail. I know that isn't really ghosting, but I wanted to vent 🤔
