Do You Give to Homeless People You Pass by on the Street?

Do you give to homeless people you pass by on the street? If I have loose change I often give a few quid here and there.
Problem is there are scammers and druggies pretending to be homeless on our streets so its unfortunate that people are unsure about giving.
Not very often. There's a considerable amount of fakers these days who pretend to be homeless just to get money.
I ask them if there hungry and give them food instead. Money I avoid as some end up spending on activities I don't approve of
These people need a box room to have an address and than they can work also it would protect them from maffia who collects money.
Also I saw before a family who lives from this, so they actually have a home. They were always in the same place and do shifts....Mom, Dad and Son. Also there are genuine people who need more money, but they usually play music, try to do something, not just sitting around.
I offer to buy some food or a hot drink if and when I can but it is difficult to know who is genuinely in need.
I used to but now I don't even approach them. Only because there's a couple near me that are drunk and disorderly which has made me a bit warey of them.
Never give money, but will buy hot drinks and food and I have given fleeces, waterproofs, hats and gloves to the three I know in my area who are genuinely homeless.
NEVER - I do as recommended, by most if not all local authorities, and give to the various charities who help the genuine ones.
Here is a picture of an idiot putting money into the cup of someone sent out by her well off auntie to beg - although some maintain he was taking money from the cup.
Where I live there are so many scammers. So I don't. Giving to charities which in turn can help the homeless is best in my opinion
