Gluten Free Ranges, Kid Friendly?!
Ask a Question
Hi all, we're trying a gluten free diet for my daughter, who's also autistic, so taste and child aimed things are super important. Do any supermarkets have a good gluten free kids range? Or where's the best in general? Do aldi and lidl have a gluten free range?
We recently tried dairy free (trying to find triggers for uncontrollable eczema!) And it was a flop, vegan cheese broke her heart
Thank you for any help
Tesco Free From choco squares cereal are really nice. Schar wholesome seeded bread is good for cheese on toast. Did you try her with Violife non-dairy cheese? I found the range quite nice. Bfree sweet potato wraps are very tasty. The free from pasta, cakes, biscuits and Dream rice milk from Sainsburys/Tesco is quite good.
RichardDoolin brilliant thank you I tried the violife cheese and it wasn't bad! But she wouldn't try it haha
chelseanjsmith9 The pale choco pillow square cereals (Tesco) are nicer than the dark pillows (Morrisons). The dark ones are quite bitter but the pale ones are sweeter. If you are going to buy some then stock up as they seem to have episodes of being out of stock.
RichardDoolin they're a favorite cereal in our house , will definitely stock up! Thank you
I’m coeliac and Morrison’s is by far the best supermarket for gluten free!
Their GF lasagne sheets are only 35p and they do dinosaur shaped pasta for like 65p, they do frozen GF margarita pizzas for 80p
plus all their cereals and chocolates etc are really reasonably priced! Makes me feel like I don’t miss out on much shopping there
My local Sainsbury’s has a really good range of free from products generally, so I’d recommend trying yours if you can. Every store is different though - the one near where I used to live had barely anything!
Have you tried the Whole Creations Dairy & Gluten Free Roasted Tomato & Basil Sheesy Pizza?
Hi. I’m gluten free, I’ve found that it does take some searching to know which products are good... most of Sainsbury’s own brand gluten free is good (pasta etc) however for bread I get Genius toastie. Pizza I always go for the goodfellas GF pizza - although the Sainsbury’s own brand wasn’t too bad either. Tesco also has a good selection.
