Going Green over Christmas

Ask a Question

Is anyone making a special effect to go green over Christmas? Are you going to stop sending Christmas cards, cutting down on wrapping paper, having a fake tree or a real one with roots. Let me know how you can make Christmas greener.

I haven't sent any christmas cards this year and I'm glad about it. I seem to spend time doing this and writing messages in one and often I get no card back from the person. Saving time and money and i'm not doing it again either.

I've been cutting own on sending cards for the last couple of years and will only be physically sending a handful to those who would be offended by not receiving one.

We were more greener 30 years ago... I still use Christmas cards that have been sent to our family, for next years tags (cut the main picture out with serrated scissors) use bags instead of paper which can be used again. Just like my mum did, I do wish I could do more like my mum did but I don't have the baking hands 😞

Making tags out of Christmas cards is a great idea! I remember my mum has done this before! Great way to reuse materials! 🙂

Using brown paper to wrap presents which is recyclable and decorating with ink and stamps or something similar. Going to try to find an alternative to cello tape also. Avoiding gift bags, cards, envelopes and tags (might make cardboard tags). Not buying unnecessary plastic/other single use Christmas decorations

No wrapping paper this year... All the toys packed in single use plastic by the manufacturers, that is bad enough for the environment.
