If you like historical stuff there are loads on BBC 4 Lucy Worsley on cavalier and Holdover castle. She also does British History's Biggest Fibs. Neil Oliver on Rise of the Clans. Sam Willis, Invasion. I have met him, great presenter and lecturer. The Real Versailles. Tales of Tudor Travel. Sam Willis again on Sword, Musket and Machine Guns. Loads more on History, channel 5 and Yesterday.

I find "documentary wise" that YouTube seems to be better than any actual broadcasters. I started watching an amateur documentary the other night (intrigued by its title) and became totally absorbed by the enthusiasm shown by the amateur presenter and his knowledge. I found on reading comments that I wasn't the only one, and it wasn't because it was local to me, people from all over the world thought it good too.

davidstockport ooh that looks good. I’ll have a look at that later. Apart from my guilty pleasure that is Neighbours I very rarely watch ‘normal’ tv. Much prefer youtube and my favorite thing is documentaries.

nipperjwb About the only thing I watch on TV is Coronation Street and sometimes The Chase - I watch both on catch up - as said some of the best documentaries are on YouTube, many of the professionally made ones find their way there. the one I linked to above has had over two million views and in my opinion is good enough to be broadcast. Many don't realise that amateur documentaries are made for a very very small fraction of what professionals spend.

If you do watch the above video don't let the pike frighten you (no one gets hurt)😀

nipperjwb I must mention I hadn't realised that documentary had only been uploaded the week before I saw it - I subscribed to the channel as a result of which I was notified of another upload by the same member, who is overwhelmed at the reaction to it. Those who watch the above video will find this more than interesting. It was uploaded in the few hours since I posted the above link.

There was the one about the triplets split up at birth last week on channel 4 - I think it’s called three identical strangers. It was interesting
