Groupon Issures
Ask a Question
Anyone had any issues with their orders not being delivered recently, made an order 3 weeks ago for £264 still not arived. Groupon said they have been oversold and that I cant get a refund, only account credits?! Anyone else having problems?
I've had countless problems with them in the past. You have a right to a refund and I suspect whatever you bought will be available cheaper elsewhere. How did you pay?
Dennab probably is elsewhere cheaper to be honest, I paid by card which I'm regretting now. Wish i had used PayPal.
DanielleFajardo You can try charge back depending on whether your bank offers it. To he honest, with it being Groupon they will know you have consumer rights and are just pushing their luck. If they have promised you a product within a certain window, they have no right to hold onto your money.
Dennab spoke to them through the chat but I'll give them a call tomorrow and complain until I get my refund! Ha thanks for your advice really appreciate it
Had this with wowcher , they wanted to give me a credit on account I said to them I want money back not credit so they refunded, the companies will be trying always to give you credit so you spend on their website but just call them or go online chat and tell them you want full refund not credit , it’s very frustrating but you have right to get your refund, good luck
They're trying to mug you off.
Don't take any nonsense off them and if they carry on, get onto your bank and request a chargeback.
Was going to start a new topic but found this one. It seems that Groupon are finally being forced to give proper refunds in future. I know some people have had issues with them in the past. Ive only used them twice - once got a really good deal and it worked very well. The other time the goods arrived very badly damaged - but I did get a full refund no problems and some of what was purchased was useable so I was happy. My only issue with them is that all too often the deals are not as good as they look when you add postage etc.
Unfortunately many members on here like to be "spoon fed" deals and perhaps assume that deals from certain companies are "great deals " as they are allowed on here .
Sadly many of the deals posted on here appear attractive , until you read though and realise you are buying a third party voucher (which is rarely included in the "Deal price ) before you get to the headline "Deal price " .
OK it should be "buyer beware" and always read the small print . But as a supporter of our less savvy members I believe the "Headline Deal price " should always include up front any P&P and/or voucher costs ?
Golfforall Yes the freebie section is full of so called free items where the postage is added on top and often brings the item up to the going rate for that particular product so not a freebie.
I think I've only used groupon a few times and was very pleased with the products and services I bought. I bought a bike from them and what with use of vouchers and cashback sites the bike was very cheap, in the weeks after the bike must have gone up in price about 5 times. Mine arrived with a few scratches and I was given a £25 voucher. I went through a cashback site again when using it and that was paid out too. I worked out what I'd paid for the bike and it was around £60-70 overall which I was very pleased with. I can't imagine this was profitable for them.
My experience was pretty positive but know from experience when I've had terrible service from a company and others report good service. Good customer service can be a lottery with many companies.
