Gym vs Home Work Outs

What would people suggest either going to the gym or doing work outs from home.
I've had really good results from doing things like the beach body workouts or Jillian Michaels. I went to the gym and stagnated a bit for years but home workout programs keep you changing it up. I'd probably only consider the gym again if I was training for something specific or got a personal trainer.
I was thinking about this the other day especially because of childcare arrangements and it’ll just be another excuse so I usually opt for home workouts. I agree that you can change up the routine and no one has to see you mess up really
