Can anyone advise on a mid range shampoo and conditioner for dry & damaged hair that contains NO sulphates, parabens or hormone disrupters? Thank you

Best way to find out is to use an AI. Just put in what you are actually looking for and it’s great for coming up with suggestions. Then I would search the product AI has found to find out more and if AI is correct. I done a quick search on google AI and it recommended Faith in Nature Shea and Argan shampoo. Holland and Barrett sell it for £5.59. Otherwise you may find it cheaper online on Amazon. Also have a look at the Dove range, they may do something and probably cheaper.

eyeballkerry im not saying ai is never right but today I asked for advice it told me to warm it up by putting it in the freezer.

I decided to try little boiling water instead

Some of the Aussie shampoo and conditioner lines are sulphate free and all are paraben-free.

Which formulas are sulfate- and paraben-free?

  • Aussie Kids Line: Products like the Aussie Kids Moist Shampoo are completely free of sulfates, parabens, and dyes. [1]
  • Specialized & Curl Lines: Certain targeted collections—such as Miracle Coils Shampoo and select glossy or bouncy curl ranges (like Oh My Gloss and Bouncy Curls)—are formulated without sulfated surfactants or parabens. [1, 2, 3]

Which formulas contain sulfates?

  • Classic Lines: Standard, best-selling core products like the classic Miracle Moist or Miracle Curls shampoos typically contain traditional sulfates (like sodium lauryl sulfate or sodium laureth sulfate) unless explicitly labeled as sulfate-free on the front of the bottle. [1]

Always check the individual product label or ingredient list before buying to confirm whether a specific variant meets your needs. [1]

Well I use bar shampoo but no conditioner. My hair is very thick and frizzy so I use coconut oil while it is still wet, the liquid type, I believe it is called defractionated, or something like that, just means liquid instead of solid.

Good question as I'm looking to change shampoo and conditioner and was looking for no sulphate, parabens etc. I used to use Pantene years ago and my hair was the best it ever was. I googled to see if they have a sulphate, parabens, etc free version and they have this one:

Popular Pantene Sulfate-Free Pro-V Options

Pantene Pro-V Blends Rose Water (Miracle Moisture Boost)

  • Best for: Dry or color-treated hair needing gentle hydration.
  • Key ingredients: Pro-Vitamin B5, antioxidants, and rose extract.
  • Formula highlights: Free from sulfates, silicones, parabens, dyes, and mineral oil; features a light rose water, mint, and lily scent.

I haven't bought any yet as I'm not out of my current shampoo and conditioner, so I can't say what it's like to use, but this is the one I'm going to be buying.

Faith in nature is what I use as have sensitivity and most branded shampoos they irritate my scalp, they do various ones for hair types and reasonable priced usually can get 5l of shampoo for £30 (think similar price for conditioner too) and lasts ages even with me and my 3kids.

T. K. Maxx sometimes have smaller bottles 400ml or 1l.

Holland and Barrett also do them.

Depends what kind of hair you have & if you live in a hard water area. I’m in London, so washing hair regularly just destroys it, & I didn’t know this until recently that you ought to rinse with only cold water & not to ever brush it when wet, as it just inflicts damage. I’m fine with most shampoos, even the cheap ones, so for me, it’s the water doing the damage

Best to do a Google search as it’s easier that way with fast results from ai lol and it’s also good to read some hair care products and their reviews may be of help. And better to read their information on what they contain etc
