Halloween Trick or Treaters - Love or Hate?!
Ask a Question
It's seems to be one of those things like marmite! Do you love or hate having trick or treaters to your house on Halloween?
hated it when i didnt have kids of my own, i used to go out for the evening to avoid, but now that i have my own kids and have seen the joy they get from it I have grown to love it
Hate, purely because I have two dogs and they bark defensively everytime the door knocks and then want to say hi, inspect and lick everyone that comes to the door....
We don't get any to our door. U but sweets each year just in case but they never show up. Which I'm glad about as it means the dog isn't barking at the door and then trying to say hello all night.
I don’t hate it but not the biggest fan either if I’m in in halloween then it doesn’t bother me to hand out a few sweets doesn’t do any harm
When I lived with my partner and we both had young kids I got into the spirit of it (see what I did there?). I would even dress as a witch and open the door with a cauldron of sweets.
However, now older and living alone I tend to turn the lights off and shut myself away in front of tv until it is over. I feel intimidated by several teens knocking on the door.
Really don't see the point of Trick or Treating . Wasn't really a big thing when I was young anyway, think it's an American thing that come across., and the shops have been quick to promote it.
I quite like it, i loved it as a kid so I want children to enjoy it too, as long as they respect people who chose not to take part. People should put signs up to make it clear
Sorry I know some will disagree with me but I don’t like Halloween. It sends children the wrong message asking for sweets or money.
I pretend I'm not in if I can.
I'm not sharing my sweets!
Actually, I avoid answering the door at all at any time, unless I'm expecting someone - it's not going to someone I want to see.
I don't really like it because of the fact that I am paying money and then to hand out the sweets that I have payed for. Children always take a handful and then the parents are embarrassed. Too much hassle
If I remember I like to buy sweets to hand out but if I forget I have a little panic and end up hiding in the dark all night
