Is "Happy New Year" Considered Offensive?
Other
Did a search and seems it kind of it. Thankfully, it's only a few people while the majority don't have a problem with "Happy New Year".

Even if they did, would we have to say "Happy New Day" or something extremely generic and vague? Possibly. You know, that sounds silly but so does "Happy Holidays".
"Happy Holidays" could in theory be used for an entire year but it's only said during Christmas season, using everything about Christmas though they block the word "Christmas" from being said, read or heard. That's kinda like appropriating / stealing a tradition but no one seems to care.

- why would be offensive? it is a new year and to wish someone a happy one can only be a good thing. we go too far with pc carry on. Christmas is a Christian festival and if you are offended by that why would you live in a Christian country

No, of course it isn't. People shouldn't be offended by any kind of greeting if the sentiment behind it is a nice one. Personally, I'd be fine with being wished a Happy Xmas/Hanukah/Diwali/New Year/whatever regardless of whether it's something I personally celebrate. People should save their energies for stuff that is genuinely offensive; there's enough of it out there!

Not to me. I celebrate another new year in just over a month’s time, and as they say, the more the merrier
