Happy to Stay Home

Ask a Question

I'm pleased that we all get to stay home with everything going on. I was upset about the things I can't do at first but with the rates rising where I live 2 weeks ago 1 in 115 people tested positive last week 1 in 85 I'm happy not to have to go out and risk one of us getting it does anyone else feel the same

Absolutely agree. I'm happy to follow whatever guidelines they put in place. It's challenging at times of course, not being able to see people or do things when you want to, but it's for the best, and I'm fine with that. Years from now, I don't want to look back and think that I was a part of the problem, or that I behaved in a way that put others at risk.

Definitely I would hate to think I put anyone at risk

Yes, but it's still important to go outside for regular exercise for physical and mental health reasons. Inactivity during the pandemic is creating a lot of other unrelated health issues. Before the third lockdown there were discussions about introducing a 'Work out to help out' scheme to encourage people to exercise.

I agree. In fact, someone I knew died in the first lockdown because he was shielding, too afraid to go for a walk. Mental health is also an issue

I have been happy to stay at home since the first lockdown. I learnt long before this the importance of isolating and keeping everyone safe. I have a very happy home life and tbh the lockdowns haven't really changed much for us apart from not going out for dinner once a week and I can't say that I miss it

I’m content staying in. I do waste an awful lot of time on the iPad doing competitions, looking for bargains and reading magazines. Certain family members are having a very tough time and I feel guilty saying I’m content.

Pjran I'm kept busy with my son but I do spend a lot of time entering comps and doing surveys. I feel guilty saying I'm content too as I know there are lots of people struggling

I'm fed up with being stuck in and not being able to travel but know we have too. I was the opposite, I was ok with being in the house at the start but now its soul destroying. I would normally be abroad or going abroad to escape the delightful weather but not this year.

Well, that's a bit like kidnap victims feel to their captor(s) with Stockholm Syndrome.

Lockdowns are keeping people in house arrest.

Surely people must go out even if it's simply a matter of standing around the doorstep and chatting with the neighbours ( at a distance of course ) . It seems a little unhealthy not to go out at all , safely . Image

I was on furlough for a week but called back into work today after two employees are covid positive so they need staff in. Personally I need the money so can’t refuse to go back in but both me and my partner are unhappy that I will be back in a covid positive workplace and dealing with numerous customers throughout the day. Hats off to the NHS staff constantly putting their health at risk, don’t know how they do it.

Totally agree. Loving time with my family, (partner is still working), Yes it has its ups and downs (a lot more downs). But we have to make the best of a bad situation and just think it’s not forever xx
